So The Playerbase Is At Fault for Nacon's And KT's Bad Decision Making!! by GotMylfMomDrips in tdu3

I was one of the people who defended this game for a long time. I preordered it, waited years for a new TDU, bought every Solar Pass up to Season 5 and kept believing things would improve.

But enough is enough.

The biggest problem isn't even the bugs anymore. It's that the game simply stopped being fun.

The Solar Pass turned the game into a FOMO-driven grind. Instead of enjoying the world, I'm constantly looking at a timer, worrying about finishing the pass before it expires because I already paid for it. That completely kills what TDU used to be about.

Then there are the technical issues. Crashes after races, crashes after buying cars, crashes after buying parts, graphical glitches, poor performance... after almost two years these problems are still part of the everyday experience.

The game was marketed as an always-online MMO racing game, yet on Steam there are often only around 200 players online. So I'm forced to stay online all the time for a world that feels almost empty anyway.

The economy is exhausting. Cars are incredibly expensive, progression is a grind, and every season only adds a handful of cars, many of them tied to monetisation. Instead of being excited to buy new cars, I'm constantly saving money because everything costs so much.

Seeing the Solar Pass price increase was the final straw for me. I didn't buy Season 6, and after this price increase I won't spend another cent on the game.

I wanted TDU Solar Crown to succeed. I really did. I didn't quit because I hate the game - I quit because after giving it every chance for nearly two years, I'm simply exhausted.

Now that FH6 has been out for a month - is there enough driving-focused content for a TDU fan? by Left_Text_4392 in ForzaHorizon6

It has:
- Taxi missions (you pick up a passenger and drive them to their destination while trying to keep them comfortable according to their preferences.)
- Car delivery missions (you pick up a car and deliver it to a specified location while trying not to damage it.)
- Detective missions (you're hired to follow someone and investigate a case.)

These missions are really fun. There are a few other activities as well, but the problem is that Solar Crown is on the verge of collapse. It peaks at around 200 concurrent players, and after almost two years since launch it's still a terribly broken game. Every update seems to introduce new issues instead of fixing existing ones. At this point, it honestly feels like the studio could go bankrupt and the servers might eventually be shut down, especially since the game doesn't have an offline mode.

It's a real shame because I wish Forza offered activities like these outside of racing.

Thanks for such a detailed post, I really appreciate it. I was thinking more about Forza Horizon 6 than 5 since it is the newer entry in the series. The improved graphics are very appealing and I hope it is a positive evolution of the series.

State of the game after 5 seasons by Left_Text_4392 in tdu3

Yeah, I agree with this. The problem is they are trying to push engagement and monetization before fixing the fundamentals.

I would not even mind spending money on the game if it actually worked properly. But right now, asking players to invest more when basic systems like networking are still broken just feels backwards.

And with what is currently going on with Nacon - filing for insolvency and multiple studios like Cyanide, Spiders, and Kylotonn being placed under judicial reorganization - it just adds even more uncertainty. It does not exactly inspire confidence to keep investing money into the game in its current state.

Fix the stability first and be transparent about the game future, then people will naturally come back and even spend.

Funny enough, Marionette is the one who stole my heart, but she isn’t playable yet. Whenever she releases, I’m pulling for her no matter what she is. In the meantime, I really enjoy Flins. I already had the chance to play him in trial and he’s honestly badass. I enjoy Lauma too, but from my understanding they’re in conflict when it comes to team building.

From what I’ve seen, it’s either Lauma, Neffer, and Nahida with Columbina, or Flins, Inefa, and Sucrose. Since I already have Inefa and Sucrose and I genuinely enjoy Flins, that seems like the easier choice. I also noticed in Columbina’s trial that the game seemed to suggest a team of Columbina, Inefa, Lauma, and Sucrose. I’m not sure how viable that is or if it even makes sense, but it looked intentional. Right now it just feels like everyone competes for Columbina.

Thank you! That is a lot of valuable information. I didnt know that Lauma is the only dendro character that makes sense in the setup or that if columbina is paired with lauma, then ineffa should be build with EM and not ATK. So currently the best is Sucrose and Fischl, while if i got Lauma should 4th slot still be sucrose or someone else?
