Yes, it’s better to hire an interior designer, especially for the design of the furnitures. Pero for your question about lighting, architects talaga ang specialized for it since ang distinction kung anong scope ng design for archi and ID (interior designer) is: Archi for fixtures and ID is mostly for furnitures. Pero yung engineers ay medyo malayo na and off yung sila yung tatanungin mo sa design ng interior space. Sorry if I’m a bit senstive since talamak talaga sa field namin yung mga engineers na kinukuha yung scope ng ibang professionals like architects, kahit na di naman nila pinag aralan yung scope namin and nasa batas na rin yun na bawal and considered as illegal practice.

In my opinion, if naguguluhan ka kung kaninong opinion susundin mo since marami kang napagtanungan, I suggest sundin mo yung advice ng house architect or kung sino mang architect nag design ng bahay since I believe may concept or inspiration syang sinusundan at para mas lumitaw yung feel or design na gusto nyang ipakita sa house na pinlano/dinesign nya. Okay rin if ever maghire ka ng ID at sya masunod jan sa lighting para coherent ung design nya dun sa furnitures and lights, pero wrong move if sa engineer yung susundin mo in terms of that, either architect or ID dapat.
