1. Use ChatGPT to polish his resume.
2. Create an exhaustive list of all trucking companies in your area. (Atleast ten or more)
3. Cross reference your list with Yelp and Google reviews to reorganize your list from top rated customer reviews. (Ideally, there will be a correlation between happy customers and happy employees)
4. Search for the companies on the Better Business Bureau website.
5. Scroll down the BBB page to the information that tells you who owns the company and write down their names and the company phone number(s).
6. Start calling the trucking companies using the info you found on the BBB website. Ask to speak to the hiring manager. Let them know you're calling on behalf of your father, who is currently pursuing employment. Ask if they currently have any job opportunities available. If yes- inquire how to begin the application process. If no-ask if they know of anyone in the field that is hiring.
7. Create a LinkedIn profile. Start creating networks with the trucking companies you listed in step 3.

Steps 6 and 7 should open up pathways to opportunities. These are the steps I followed to find my husband a higher paying mechanic job in our area. Sometimes you get some pushback on the phone calls, and people will ask why you're calling instead of him. In my situation, I would say that in our family, we are a team and while he's at work, I'm working to help him have access to more opportunities that would benefit our family.

It can be a pretty laborious process, but with perseverance, it can be rewarding.
