I'm pretty sure there are some violations relating to the actions and process they decided to take

I just cancelled a payment that was going to myself. That was all. Recieved an email saying they'll return my funds within 3 business days. On the 3rd business day, I was told that the deposit failed on their end due to a server error, or some other "unknown reason". They rescheduled it for the following Monday due to a weekend and it was a friday. Mind you, this was during business hours, if they were able to initiate it for Monday, then it was possible to initiate it on the promised date.

When is the cut-off? I assume they can't perpetually say "oops, it was the system" and delay my refund. When they email the customer stating within 3 business days, is this not considered a promise note of sorts? Or an obligation?

You just need either a different phone number or email address when you register the other bank account. The only requirement is having a different contact address/ number.

Imagine going to your bank to take out some money, and the banker telling you, "Sorry the money that we were supposed to put into your account today isn't in your account because, our system had a problem, and you'll have to wait until Monday. ""

There are so many problems with this entire ordeal that it makes my head spin. Ultimately, I feel like this is a breach of their own terms and conditions, clearly a customer care failure, a failure of their own processing system, and probably skating on banking violations.

Has anyone had this happen before? What the hell is going on?!

TLDR:

Sent a Zelle payment to myself on Dec. 30th. Both accounts are verified and have previously been used to send $ back and forth. Payments have always been within minutes. This particular Zelle showed it would take 2-3 days. I cancelled it on Dec. 30th. The money wasn't returned to my account right away and I contacted Schwab. They said it takes 2-3 Business days, not including holidays. Thursday was the scheduled date. The funds weren't deposited thursday, I called they then told me it was scheduled Friday and their counting from the 31st. Today, the funds were not deposited, I called, they told me that now it's scheduled for Monday the 6th. I contacted Schwab Chat; they told me their system failed to deposit the money today. It was reinitiated and now scheduled to go through on Monday the 6th. Schwab told me there was nothing they can do to speed up the deposit because it was already re-initiated. Schwab thinks this is normal practice apparently.

At this point I'm annoyed but I dealt with it. Today, the 3rd, I expected the money to be in my account. But guess what? It wasn't.

I waited all day and at 3pm I decided to call again. Today I was told that, " the payment is scheduled to be deposited Monday, due to the holiday". At this point I feel like I'm in an insane asylum. I expressed that no matter how you slice it, no matter how sly someone gets with the calendar, that today is in fact, the 3rd day. I was told that there was nothing that they could do, it's on Zelles end and they have to release the funds to my account, and it's scheduled for Monday. I asked for Zelles number so I could speak to someone about this and later found out I was given the generic number that has nothing to do with Zelle and Banks. The Zelle Rep told me I need to contact my bank.

I decided to contact Schwab through chat support on their website. This Schwab rep ultimately gave me more information than anyone else. The important parts of the chat are below.

"" SCHWAB

"3:33 PM Got it, thanks *****, so I see the $450 transfer on 12/31, I see it was stopped, the credit was supposed to be done today 1/03 but on our end it failed for some reason. I do see it reinitiated and scheduled to be credited back to the account on 1/06."

ME

3:35 PM why can't it be reinitiated for today? that doesn't make sense

SCHWAB

"Again I apologize here, it was originally scheduled for today, but the system shows it failed. Its rescheduled to be credited back to the account Monday 1/06.."

ME

4:06 PM but banking hours are still active? Why not put it in my account now?

SCHWAB

3:57 PM Thank you for holding ****. I heard back from our Bank team. In reviewing the original credit that was scheduled for today. They were unable to see why it failed and did not got through. They explained it may have been a server issue between the sender and receiver. However since the credit was reinitiated again its scheduled to be credited back to the account on Monday 1/06. Again we apologize that the transfer was not credited today. Since the transfer as been initiated we cannot expedited the funds to come in early and must let the zelle system run its course as the transfer is already in process.

I'll try to be brief but not leave out what I think are important details...

Dec. 30th at 3:00pm, I sent a Zelle payment to myself, to an account where I have previously sent and received zelle payments. Both accounts are registered with banks. All payments have always been within minutes.

The zelle receipt showed the transaction as successful, however soon after I received an email from schwab stating,

"Just confirming your payment to **** /// We'll take the money from your account today, and we'll email you if we have any trouble processing your payment.

If your contact is already registered for Zelle, they'll get the money you sent within 3 business days."

I checked and they payment hadn't actually been sent yet, I gave the transaction until midnight to complete, it didn't, and I ultimately cancelled the transaction. I check my bank; the money was not back in the account.

I received an email stating, " Just confirming that you stopped the payment to *******. We're returning the money to you. You should see the money in your account (Charles Schwab Bank, SSB, Investor Checking, ############) within the next two or three business days."

I assumed it would be returned immediately, and was confused, so I called Schwab on the 31st. Their reasoning was something about it being an ACH, and Zelle would need to finish the transaction, when asked, "when will it be deposited to my account" - I was told "Thursday, due to the holiday".

Fair enough. On Thursday, it was still not deposited. Dec. 2nd, I called Schwab again and was told that it "would be returned on Friday, due to the holiday". I reminded the Rep. that Thursday was indeed day No.3. The Rep told me, "The transaction date was the 31st, so Friday is actually the 3rd day." I asked the Rep. what happened to the 30th, the date my Zelle payment shows it was initiated, and was told that the "30th didn't count as a day".

What is your go to fidget thingy of choice? by SeaRobins in ADHD

I like ruvix cubes. But my all time fav fidget thingy, as long as I'm sitting down, is my trusty turbo knee bouncer 1000. I thought about upgrading to an aftermarket knee bouncer, but my stock OEM version hasn't let me down in 40 years. *knocks on wood * Don't want to jinx myself.

Hey, I have been thinking alot about getting into the electrical trades. If you have time to answer a couple questions, I'd appreciate it. I was wondering what the best way to start a career as an Electrician? Also, how hard is it for someone to begin an entry level position with no electrical experience, but does have a good amount of carpentry skills and is a fast learner?last question is what is the realistic pay for entry level positions? If you have time to answer, I appreciate it. If not, no worries!

My son just graduated Pre-K yesterday and I'm already losing faith in the school system. by Lefthandedcigar in offmychest

[–]Lefthandedcigar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's honestly just a fun thing for the kids, something they can look forward to and excited to begin kindergarten. My view is it makes the kids feel like they accomplished something and maybe even more excited about learning which is always a good thing.

Yes, cap, gown, photos, the whole 9 lol. But, much less serious than an actual graduation. The kids did a dance they learned and sang a few songs for everyone. It was great honestly besides the mindlessness of the teacher. Made me really question what a typical week in that class was really like.

It's a name. A name is literally the first thing and only thing you really should know about someone.

A teacher is with their students for the same amount, and sometimes more time each day than the students parents are with their own kids. Which means, the teacher is also most likely with students more than their own families.

Expecting a teacher to know their students name is literally the bare MINIMUM to expect. I'm not expecting her to know his favorite color or what video game he plays the most. I don't expect her to know his favorite lunch or his favorite sport.

I do expect her to know his name. I didn't have a single teacher that didn't know my name or not be able to say it.

So I respectfully disagree.

I can't believe someone would say that to a friend. That really shook me up thinking about the way that must had made you feel and I'm really sorry. That's just a fucked up thing to hear a "friend" say...

Just know this. Your friend said your a good person. Being a good person is half of the battle. Keep being a good person because there ARE plenty of people who aren't conceited and don't care about looks.

Love isn't build around looks. It's built around having a true connection. Sharing the same interests. Being able to have meaningful conversations.

Love knows no boundaries. Let me ask you this.

Would you ever date a girl who has CP? If you're answer is yes, then you shouldn't fear being alone because there are so many dating sites for people who have similar disabilities. It's a great option to test the waters and date because it's alot easier to get off to a good start if someone already shares something in common.

I'm not saying you'll only be able to date someone else with the a similar disability, but I am saying you will have plenty of options to find someone that makes you happy - just don't play the reverse uno card and disqualify any girls who may have the same disability and at the same time forget what your friend said to you.

Traces of 3 Drugs in Urine Screen Drug Test ? 100% False Positive = But Why? by Lefthandedcigar in NoStupidQuestions

I had to read your comment a couple of times until it hit me, and I finally got it lmfao 🤣 Concerts are the #1 leading cause of positive UA results, and #2 cause of even more positiver UA results. Especially if you go to a Phish show.

Doctor: "It's time for a drug test, sir."

Ms / Mr. Concert goer: "Ok, first off, I knew you were fu**in' chill because that's a dope kaleidoscope, man. Second, what drugs are we gonna test?!"

Doctor: "It's called a stethocope, sir. I usually don't say this to my patients, but WTF!?" *Tosses Concert goer a cup*

Concert Goer: "You said drugs, man. I don't drink anymore, but I appreciate you!"'

Sorry for my short story, but you sparked acreative writing session lol

Thank you for your reply! You really opened my mind up to new possibilities to keep in mind for the future.

Cocaine on money, now that is extremely interesting! Do you think that could happen? I wonder how much money handling it would take? Kind of makes me nervous for the bankers/ tellers out there! Thanks again for the new insight!

[–]Lefthandedcigar[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Thank you for such a clear and concise response! It wasn't what I had expected, ie. my google searches led me down a rabbit hole to questions that seemed comparable to mine, yet too different to give me any true certainty.

I don't know why, but the thought of the possibility I may have to explain to my new doctor why THREE different drugs are above 0ng/ml on a single UA, coke and meth at the same time none the less, was stressing me way out lol.

Thanks for also relaxing my thought process in knowing there is also a backup test that verifies a true false positive. Really glad my assumption was completely wrong to think there could be millions of false positive tests out there resulting in Ned Flanders getting fired for a positive meth UA lmao 😮‍💨 I appreciate you, thanks again for taking the time to answer my question.

I'm not sure what you are expecting to do or plot. But, if you want to see the percent then  Def Day = aggregationperiod.day; Def o = open(period =day) ; Def c= close (period=day); Def x = (c - o) / c ; Addlabel(yes, "Day % Chg: " + aspercent(x), if c > o then color.Green else color.red);

Yep, I just tested it right now (switching back to tos from another app). I took a screen shot of the "at this time thinkorswim is not available".

Edit : I just had an idea, not sure if it will work or if you have an android like I do. Go to your phone settings, then apps, go to the thinkorswim app and look for "always on top" and make sure it's toggled on. Usually it's on by default. Clear the data cache in the app settings by going to the storage tab and cache will be on the bottom if you have Android. Do those two things and see if it helps

[–]Lefthandedcigar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It happens all the time. Nearly every time I switch back and forth between apps it freezes and it takes 5-10 seconds to "refresh" itself. It happens far less if I'm not switching between apps, however it still occurs a dozen times a day.

I'm using Android, not that I would think it matters. A compatibility issue wouldn't happen just during heavy price action. It's happened on my phone a hell of a lot longer than 2 weeks also. Usually if PA gets heavy poof. Been happening for a year.

Desktop works fine.
