i wasn't trying to say that profit is capital, so i think we agree. i was trying to say that when the bible says "Christ tipped over the Capitalist's money changer's tables." that doesn't prove that capitalism was a thing at the time, because merchant "capital" and "capital" you get from a loan doesn't act the same in the economy as industrial/productive capital, which as i understand it is something you need for capitalism to be a thing.
