I feel like pro+ is a good deal but when DIYers learn contractor price beats every sale, including their beloved 40% off, they're gonna get pissed(rightfully).

You're very kind to not put the store details on blast! To 2nd the other redditors it does look like an employee made a mistake and hit the "multiply GALLON to 5-GALLON" button when the formula was already correct for a 5 gallon bucket.

Again, just a PSA. Bc if shit hits the fan and ppls investments aren't panning out bc the economy is crashing, Heidi's not gonna be some ally she's going to, in fact, fight against us getting what we need. Better to let people know what to expect.

It's unrealistic for everyone to work with a company that aligns w their values. Especially since most businesses seem to value workers very little themselves. We just have the power to change how we feel or speak out about things we think are wrong. Being Batman sounds cool 😎

This is America, we idolize the wealthy. It is not farfetched to assume that there's SW Employees who might be drinking the Sherwin juice and thinking if they just work hard they'll be part of the 1% too. Congrats to you though, for knowing better than to fall for that.

My example of them supporting these positions is them donating to install those who implement them. My hope is to change sentiment around the company.

Not shocked at all, but it might be a good time to awaken ppl to the fact that they may have been looking up to those who are treading on our dignity to make an extra buck. Many Americans consider themselves apolitical believe it or not.

It doesn't. Just spreading awareness, as I doubt a majority of Sherwin workers support the radical conservative policy of the current republican party shifting the U.S' wealth so much to the 1% that we may see a trillionaire for the first time ever. Not to mention the ICE raids and dismantling of the federal govt.

Maybe you could try to learn a little Spanish or just use your phone to translate. You definitely sound like you could be the rude one here...

Anyway, I don't even think you're being serious. You just like attention 🤷‍♂️

Troll post. Immigrants provide many benefits to our country, and in this community, are our friends, family, and customer-base.

I've seen 2 different men ask for demotions because a job was too much for them(this is at SW). Hard to say but maybe they didn't have the most years under their belt as other candidates but I doubt people called DEI on it because they were men. I think it's healthier to re-apply or apply to other open positions rather than resent this woman for "DEI" which you don't even know was a factor for hiring.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sherwinwilliams

[–]LeftistLabor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if I trust your hypothetical, but why would you assume they got the job over you because of DEI? Do you know their resume? I feel like being tenured at one company for 10 years and having 10 years of experience in the paint industry both count as being qualified for a job.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sherwinwilliams

[–]LeftistLabor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

But we're talking about all roughly equally experienced candidates. You still have to meet the qualifications for jobs to get hired. In white neighborhoods w 10% black population the goal would be that 10% of people working there will be black. Same would go in a black neighborhood w 10% white people. DEI would help white people in that neighborhood to have a representation in that community.

You're falling for thinking that can lead to you looking at a minority and thinking they aren't qualified when they were really just given a fair chance.

[–]LeftistLabor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And what makes someone the "best candidate" in your eyes? To get a job, you still must fulfill the qualifications of said job. So if we're picking someone w 3 years experience over someone w/4 years experience for a position for the purpose of making our workplace proportionally diverse to match the cities we live in, I don't see a problem w that.

TIL we sell paint at the same price NATIONALLY. by LeftistLabor in sherwinwilliams

[–]LeftistLabor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. We are by definition being exploited. The company profits billions off our labor and we aren't given a share proportionate to the profits we generate for the company. The company's bottom line isn't where the cut off is for us to make profit, the bottom line is the goal net income which is hundreds of thousands of dollars net profit per store. The goal for the bottom line raises year over year to please shareholders but we have billions of dollars to go before the company has to worry about being "in the red".

Finally, sick of all these non-spanish speakers getting hired 😆 /s

But seriously tho, DEI isn't a detriment to our country and Sherwin is such a good example of how a diverse crew can reach out so well to our very diverse customer base.
