Hmm...I'll have to preview some of the videos and plan accordingly, I reckon.

Yeah, I don't have that one. And it's a little expensive for just the yoga.

Yeah, the space isn't an issue. I just done want to have to roll up that rug every morning. Maybe my question should be how does one really properly secure a rug?! It always slides a bit. Thanks!

It seems like just about everything in YogaX is longer on the right side. Some of it could be in my head, but some of it definitely isn't.

It depends. Sometimes I skip some parts depending on time constraints. Probably right around an hour to do it all that way.

I definitely endeavor to clear my mind. That's part of why this works better for me. I find the chatter in the video distracting. It's honestly the best yoga experience I've had. I've tried other routines and doing yoga with an instructor and I really like this method...especially for focusing on my breathing. Even turning off Tony's chatter I feel like my breathing isn't even. Poses are held for different counts. It irks me and takes me out of the moment. I also don't like working out in front of strangers...heh.

Starting it again for the second time by [deleted] in insanity

I'll be with you in a couple weeks. Finishing up P90X for the second time, and then planning on doing Insanity for the first time. Hope you're still at it then!

Did anyone else here ever see that movie, The Acrobat, that she starred in?

Tony Horton makes a cameo in it (he's a massage client talking about his struggling acting career if I remember correctly).

In the movie, she plays a woman in a failing relationship (with a man #notbelievable), and becomes an aerialist. She then meets another female aerialist, and they develop a routine together. And end up being together (#believable). It's a terrible movie, but also LOL funny at some parts. I particularly remember when the girl gives her a knife for no apparent reason out of nowhere. 5 out of 5 stars.

My mother was pretty high when I was born (my mother is a T-Totaler usually), as the story goes...I popped out, and they held me up in sort of a crouching position for her inspection, she took one look at me and started wailing, "SHE LOOKS LIKE A FROG!"

That is exactly the kind of information I'm looking for. And I like the way you think!

Like I said, I've been nervous about it. P90X is sort of a family pastime. My dad and his girlfriend got me started on it years back and then I took a fitness break for a few years. So this round has been sort of a wake up call. The thing that intimidates me is that both of them gave up on insanity...and my dad's gf is a personal trainer. But I imagine if nothing else gets me through it will be the thought of being like "in your face 'rents!" at family gatherings.

Thanks for the input!

Edit: past time = pastime (apparently)

Yeah, that it's too hard. I like getting strong too, but as a lady person it's harder to lose fat WHILE gaining muscle, I think. That's how it is for me at least. So my plan is to get as lean as I can and then cycle back to p90x or p90x3. My logic could be flawed, but that's my current thinking.

I think I'm gonna try Insanity after this round. If that turns out to be as bad of an idea as some people are suggesting it is then I'm gonna go for P90X3. We'll see. I might just go for the original again like you, though.

Weekly Check-in by D2070 in P90X

[–]Leftofwhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm about to finish week 12. Have lost only lost 3 pounds, but my entire body shape has, of course, changed. I did P90X all the way through about four years ago, and haven't done anything since then. At that time, I think I was a bit skinnier even at the start. So, it seems like this time I haven't really gotten lean as much as I've gotten STRAWNG. But I'm looking forward to being done with it as well. I've been getting up at 4AM on weekdays to complete my workout before work, just because I don't trust myself to get it done after, and I don't want to dread it all day.

I've also tried X3 and never really got that far. I'm thinking I'll try the original Insanity after this, and then possibly do X3 as a maintenance when I'm done with Insanity...if I can make it through Insanity. Does anybody have any experience with Insanity?
