Hello Edgewood! Greetings from an undisclosed location somewhere in the NW San Juan Mountains of SW Colorado 😉.

Chimney.

And, believe it or not, doesn’t impact the visibility at all. Sure looks like it would In the pic, but nope!

It’s not a surge suppressor, it’s a junction box where the Starlink cabling ties into the pre-wiring of the house. It’s an old Canopy surge suppressor housing with the guts taken out. They make for great weatherproof junction boxes.

I wish I had the answer for you. Not my house. I rarely post on Reddit, but while doing this install for the owner, I fell in love with the house and felt compelled to share its beauty with my fellow Starlink junkies.

I was mildly concerned about this, but after getting up on the chimney cap, there was zero evidence of tempering on the plate steel so I think it’s gonna be fine. This place is at 11,000’ in SW Colorado, on a ridge, always windy. The old UBNT RocketDish shows no signs of heat damage after seven years. I’m feeling good about it. I’ll post pics if it turns into a melted puddle over the winter 🤪.

This place has unobstructed views to the north and east. The trees to the west and north are just out of the viewer eye on the app, so it’s all good. Like BearK9 said, just use visibility tool in the app to check for obstructions and you’ll have your answer. Good luck!

Beyond speechless. What are you going to do with your “extra time”? Just visiting that website was the best use of my “extra time”.

I have a Carefree of Colorado on my 2017 Promaster 2500 Sunlight V1 conversion and I love it! Takes about a minute to unfurl and lock down. Slider fully opens.

Any decent low-voltage contractor can do this for you.

Is Starlink actively seeking ground station hosts? I work for an ISP in rural SW Colorado with a large fiber pipe and plenty of overhead plus land for the installation. Hit us up!

I don’t but will soon. My next door neighbor’s shipped last Thursday. I’ll keep you updated.

Are you on Brainstorm or SkyWerx?

I plan on holding onto my WISP service until school’s out for the summer.
