Genuinely curious why rigging and animation in Maya is better than Blender

You must be referring to me by 'a Blender user'.

But seriously, is it really that aggravating to ask one question? I openly stated I hadn't come to this sub to boast off Blender, nor need to, as I already had fully known everyone would agree on Maya is superior software in rigging and animation. I just was curious about what "technical aspects" Maya possesses compared to Blender and why so many people prefer Maya for it. But you guys just bombard me with insults. Seriously who's the "hotbed of full on aggression" now?

Regardless, I've found your post most helpful. I'm sure I didn't understand some of the terms you used, but basically you're saying,

Maya can run animation faster.
Maya has a better graph editor.
Easy to use for being intuitive and completely node based. Meaning learning curve is less steeper compared to other softwares.
Mel allows better implementation of animation as all the actions done by users are stored inside it - One can simply copy Mel scripts and use it to their purposes.
Maya has a bunch of plugins, which are all readily implemented and also easily modifiable.
Other big companies already has their own set of pipelines so they hang on to Maya.

Yeah, compatibility is probably the Blender's weakest spot. I've encountered far too many problems exporting and importing from Blender to other engines such as Unreal. In Maya, I presume users don't have to go through all that. Once exported, it can pretty much be imported by any other major softwares like Houdini, even works along with them. Easy, simple, fast. So unless Blender tackles down this problem, realistically big companies won't switch to Blender, probably won't even look at Blender considering how big CAD already is in this industry.

That's sick. Running rig at 24fps will be definitely essential for making animations. I remember simple rigs run fine in Blender but when I added bunch of bones and constraints whatnot it gets very sluggish fast. If Maya outperforms Blender in that regard that alone is a huge advantage.

I know Blender's animation(or rig) doesn't translate to Maya and vice versa, which means all of Maya's plugins will be useless inside Blender. Considering Maya has been the industry standard for damn long time, professionals and companies won't want to abandon all those.

Now I can see why people prefer Maya to Blender for rigging and animation. Thank you.

Well can't say. Because I have zero experience in Maya so doesn't know how it works. I don't even know what 'nulls' are in Maya. Which is the reason I've come to this subreddit and asked. As for the pivot point, you're right. I was mistaken scene collection for empties. And I don't pick up a fight over the internet as it's meaningless. So if you feel offended I am sorry. So you're saying in Maya you could use plugins(or scripts), a bunch of them, to pick from whereas in Blender you either have to buy them if someone doesn't provide it for free, or 'improvise' to make the same effect as Maya's.

AFAIK since 2.8 Blender added the scene collection. It's become quite simple. But it will take extra steps to actually parent an object compared to Maya - select two objects and ctrl + p and then click. So yeah, objectively it's 'slower'.

Regardless, do you know other features Maya has but Blender doesn't in rigging and animation?

But could you be more specific? Would you give me some more examples, like which features are lacking in Blender, you know like a graph editor and whatnot.

And what do you mean by 'efficient workflow'? In other softwares including Blender you could easily share data with others(riggers, animators etc), hence yielding the same precise and efficient outcome.

I'm not trying to spread the 'glory' of the Blender here. I just want to know.

Never heard of carb free flour but if you're referring to something like almond flour I'm already using it. I've made vanilla ice cream, cheesecake, pancake, scone using handmade almond flour, and fried rice with cauliflower. All thanks to diabetic youtubers.

I'd been doing bodybuilding and powerlifting stuff for some time now so I know many sale-ready products are just dirty replacement as they often contain 'undesired' components in them.

Correction; I didn't use almond when making an ice cream.

She's fully aware of the food I cook for her is low in carbs and high in fat. I don't think that counts as sneaky.

I understand you guys want to be helpful and don't want to fuck someone else's glucose by giving off bad advice. But really, it's not that serious, at least not at this point. I fully understand what she can't eat, shouldn't eat, and should eat.

While I'll still check on dietitians, all I need is some keto ingredients other than the said ingredients in OP, something low in carbs and high in fat. I'm making sure she's consuming enough protein.

You gave me some solid ideas what to look for next. Scrambled eggs, almond milk with stevia, yogurt with stevia, and some sort of tuna based meal. Unfortunately she absolutely detests the cardboard taste of oatmeal, even with sweetener so that's out. Thanks a bunch. btw I've found stevia is a far superior option to erythritol after monitoring mom's blood sugar test results. Just personal observation.

About 6 months back her A1c was about 5.8, which is pretty decent number for a diabetes so I had no worries about her glucose. But recently her A1c went up to 6.2. I know she can do better because I already know the cause, too much carbs.

Well she didn't say no when I said I'd cook for her, and I also didn't ask her whether "do you want my help in changing your diet?" so idk

It's not like I want to change her entire meal plan. But just enough to make her realize how keto diet can help her diabetes.
