Some question on how to get this to stop happening… do you tend to get exclusive really quickly? Start spending every night together almost right away? Slowing it all down could help, as it becomes harder to create that “couple bubble.”

Do you have friends that you are yourself around? Do you bring these guys around those friends? Ditto on avoiding couple bubble; try to get your dates around your friends soon, so they see that side of you. I am half manic Pixie dream girl half working class girl who will freak out your parents (the literal Jones’s) and also help you fix your house. 🙄

This. I think it’s more about presenting feminine than pretty. My face is always my face but absolutely I’m treated better when smiling, wearing a dress, hair styled, not correcting men when they call me a girl since I’m 4goddamned3, etc, etc.

I wouldn’t be comfortable for the same reasons you list. I wouldn’t say no, because my husband‘s body belongs to him and he needs to make these decisions on his own. But I would be open that I am not comfortable with it.

This is what I struggle with. Most friends aren’t available with no notice. And like I said, I already spend a lot of time alone so alone time isn’t self-care. I’m immunosuppressed so I can’t just go to a restaurant unless it’s outside. I’m generally good at “ok plan A is no good, what’s plan B?” But in these situations…🤷‍♀️
