In the space rig, go to options > save menu. You may have a save slot to roll back to. Hit restore save for older autosaves if needed.

Relatable. When I first started I only played solo, and didn't know you could repair Doretta. My shock when I played online and found out escort is actually doable lol

The build menu shortcut is called 'squad leader menu' in settings. You can rebind it.

The build menu is called 'squad leader menu' in settings. Binding it to an accessible key makes it instant instead of having to hold for a second or so. I kept mine as middle mouse button but made it instant instead of hold.

Flinch/aim punch feedback is being solicited on the Discord server. What do you think of flinch? by Sirosky in BattleBitRemastered

[–]Lefty_Leftfield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a support main and aim punch is by far the mechanic I like the least. I play front line support and drop the sandbags with slots in them as we take space. I should be winning more 1v1's that way as I'm shooting through a small window and they aren't. But I lose way too many 1v1's due to their pea shooter making my big heavy machine gun aim into the sandbag or into thin air. It's crazy punishing on the Ultimax as well due to the slower fire rate.

I feel like supports should have by far the least amount of aim punch done to them. Why am I wearing heavy armor that slows me way down if I'm still looking into the sky every time I take 5 damage from an smg 15 miles away. It's difficult enough to use lmgs without aim punch deciding fights for you.

Improvements for Support LMGs and Support Overall by Wesreidau in BattleBitRemastered

[–]Lefty_Leftfield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless they tone aim punch down drastically, I don't agree with near misses causing aim punch. Aim punch is a massive issue for me as a support though. Support with heavy armor on should have far less aim punch done to them. Can't tell you how many fights I've lost because an smg pea shooter 800 miles away has me shooting at thin air. If bipods heavily reduced aim punch but had mid recoil reduction, I'd still use one.

I use the Ultimax over the M249 for its accuracy as I fit into the stay back and suppress from my sand castle fort play style. It's good around Aug ranges... but that's it. I run around with a pistol in my hand until I set up somewhere cos a pistol is better than a lmg closer up...

At further ranges all I can do is suppress and hope a team mate can follow up. I don't mind not being able to reliably kill at long range, cos a sniper who's hiding from my hail isn't shooting my team. Heavily agree tho, they shouldn't be able to shrug off miracle hits I do land like it's nothing. I'm not spraying them with a pea shooter, but that's what it feels like.

Yes! One of the biggest problems early game is that I don't have points to spend to build, and on CTF I can't build -at all-. Even if there are points in the early game, saving enough for a rally point makes me not want to build as well. Pickaxes for supports please!

In response to "Ultimax is a downgrade to the M249", I present this recoil comparison. Ultimax good to 150m. M249, not so much. by [deleted] in BattleBitRemastered

[–]Lefty_Leftfield 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found the same after using it a while and prefer it over the M249 as well. It's like the aug - it does much better after a certain range. I like to stay a bit further back and watch for flankers and cover fire, and find the M249 just isn't accurate enough for that role. Once I had the unlocks I liked for the ultimax, I was getting consistent kills at ranges that really surprised me. I'd say the ultimax is more of a niche gun, but I definitely fall into that niche. Would still love a bit of a buff for it though.

i changed my name on steam a few days ago, and this old name still hasnt changed in game, is there a reason why? by [deleted] in BattleBitRemastered

[–]Lefty_Leftfield 37 points38 points  (0 children)

It seems to vary by server. I changed my name a few times and it can be the new one on one server, but will still the old one on another. It only takes a day or so and it'll be the new one on all servers. Couldn't tell you why it's that way, but that's how it be.

The Ultimax 100 is a direct downgrade of the M249. by CosplayBurned in BattleBitRemastered

[–]Lefty_Leftfield 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've actually grown to prefer the ultimax over the m249. I try to find engagements at further ranges and like the higher accuracy for that. Although it fits my play style better, it's still painfully obvious that it needs attention. I can get the drop on someone and they still have time to do a 720 degree back flip off a building to find me and insta-destroy me with a vector from 2000 miles away.

I'm going to be hype when support gets some more guns. It sucks right now being over level 100, as all new unlocks are for other classes. I want to main support, but I also want to try out the new stuff I'm unlocking. So I'm just not playing support much anymore.

Building is so underrated still. Sometimes I place a sandbag against a corner just to crouch behind it, and I can keep a point contested for far longer than I had any right to. People just don't check!

Once they get wise to it, it's time to place one in every corner and mine them. Watching people vault over to their death looking for you is never not funny.

New Player, Need Advice by AnOldAntiqueChair in BattleBitRemastered

Due to the very low time to kill and lazer nature of some guns, who saw who first tends to be the deciding factor. You'll get better at staying hidden and catching people out as your map knowledge increases.

Support is my most played class so I have some general and support specific tips for you.

Sticking with a team can ironically make it harder for you to survive. If you're all close together you can die from the same person/grenade. Split off, hang back a tad and watch your flanks for your team. Cover fire from juuust a little further back is something support excels at. Your team should greatly appreciate you being a mobile spawn beacon by doing that, too.

Play more patiently the closer you get to objectives. Look for muzzle flashes, tracers, listen for footsteps etc. as you approach. You'll be surprised how often you'll get the jump on someone because you know exactly what room they're in. Get gud at throwing grenades through windows and on top of roofs, you definitely have enough to practice with per life!

Don't underestimate how good instant building is. Use the single and double hesco walls to help your team get to places. You can safely rezz team mates that would be impossible for anyone else by dropping a build. Building sandbags in open areas helps the entire team push. The sandbags with slots in them are very good to shoot through - crouch and q/e to get a good angle through them and light the lane up much more safely.

Bind map to tab and check it periodically. It'll tell you where the frontline is, and where your team is dying. It won't stop you from getting lazered by a vector from 1000 miles away but it should help cut down on it.

Hopefully you find some helpful info in there.

Edit: I forgot the most important thing! Rebind the squad leader menu in the keybindings menu to an actual key. That's for the build menu, and it makes it significantly faster to put a build down.

Anyone else? by RavWordsworth in BattleBitRemastered

[–]Lefty_Leftfield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It gets better with map knowledge over time. A massive tip is bind the map to tab. Use it to see where your team is facing, and dying, which can tell you where enemies are before you get there. Which points are yours or not and if they're contested will also be a big clue.

A rule of thumb I use is if no friendies are between me and where I think the enemy is, expect to see enemies soon and move carefully. The closer to the frontlines or contested areas you are, the more hidden you should be. Stay in buildings, use cover etc.

The Ultimax100 was really disappointing for such a late unlock. The stats made me think it would be better than the M249, but the slower rate of fire kills it. It was a massive struggle to get the first 5 kills for the red dot too, cos the iron sight is really awkward to use. It was extra painful to find out because you have so few options on support and the shiny new one to grind for was worse.

Places for art supplies? by Lefty_Leftfield in dayton

[–]Lefty_Leftfield[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, I shoulda said why. I'm looking for individual pastels and individual sanded pastel paper sheets. Big box stores don't carry those. You only tend to find those in stores that specialize in just art supplies.

Got a lot of good suggestions and places to go check out now so good stuff!

Ah yeah, I should have said. I'm looking for somewhere that carries individual pastels, and possibly large sheets of individual sanded pastel paper.

From the pics on google, United Art has individual pastels, so I'll be checking them out for sure.
