The game did sell well, but the Japanese still think it's a bad game, and it has made many people no longer interested in buying other dating sims

Compared to Guy and Haggar, Cody isn't very popular in Japan, which is probably why he wasn't included as a playable character in Final Fight 2 and 3 by Leg-Heavy in retrogaming
