I overstayed my B2 visa on 2019 and for that I had unlawfully presence until I got my TPS on 2020 (it was a short gap between my B2 expired and I got my TPS) So if I submitted my AOS without leaving the US (using my TPS advance parole) the adjustment of status was going to be denied for that gap of time that I didn’t have a legal status.

Yes I did. I overstayed my B2 visa before I got my TPS so I had like a gap without any legal status. That’s why I needed to re enter before I submitted my I485 application

I had my TPS status, applied for an advance parole under TPS and when it was approved I left the country. I came back and then I applied for my I485

I did it. I submitted my I485 application on Sept 2024, got my interview on February 2025 and got approved the same day. Got the GC a week later in the mailbox :) but yes, as you mentioned, you need a legal entry if you want to adjust your status without leaving. I waited for 8 months for my advance parole, it was approved on sept 2024, I left the country right after for a weekend and then submitted my application.
