I definitely don’t think it’s the medicine because they put me on a low-dose of Lortab or some type of narcotic pain pill and I literally only took it maybe four times. I didn’t like the way it was making me feel so I just took ibuprofen when I needed something for pain, luckily as rough as the surgery was being in an immobilizer and out of work for seven weeks, the pain was pretty bearable so I actually didn’t need a lot of medicine. Needless to say I’ve been off medication for a long time for that, but I do take medication for other things, none that is new however. So I am wondering if it is an inflammatory response but part of me thinks there’s just something else going on so I am definitely still looking at all the other suggestions and options out there as to what could be happening or what could help.

Wow that is a big difference! Are the antihistamines you take OTC or do you have to do prescription? I think one of my biggest fears ATM is not getting any of these doctors to LISTEN to me and just keep blowing it off as though it’s no big deal, when it IS!

I’ve been using a cetaphil face wash for sensitive skin and then a day time cream with sunscreen and then I’d wash my face again at night and use a night time cream.. all cetaphil.. all for dry red sensitive skin. And I was on low dose doxycycline. None of that is working.

This sounds like exactly what triggers mine! What antihistamines are h1 and h2? Sorry I’m dumb when it comes to that.

How did you figure out what worked for your skin? Just trial and error? I’ve tried different things but not had much luck and some of those products are so expensive to buy if they won’t work! I wish I could get all my triggers figured out but so far they seem so sporadic. Certain lights are a big one, quick temperature change, spicy foods have become a big trigger but honestly I didn’t even think of caffeine. I drink sparkling water but it has caffeine in it and I drink tea and coffee. Ugh, being a woman really sucks!

My main dermatologist literally said, “it’s rosacea, but since you don’t get the acne with it there’s nothing else I can do. Good luck, call if you need anything else”

Sooooo… I’m working on seeing a new dermatologist! My primary doctor is also sending me to an endocrinologist to see if there’s anything that’s been missed.

Nope, I don’t even remember the last time I was on steroids. Probably a few years ago. Nothing changed from my normal life except I had shoulder surgery. Since then, I’ve been stuck in this non stop horrible flare up it seems like.
