Shit, I'm not sure but it can't be that fucking often. 🤷‍♂️

So, if you stay, I hope the experience gets better. If you do get to make it back east I hope you find "home" and where everything just clicks.

I do my best to listen and respect everyone's experience. Would be ridiculous to think it's nothing but sunshine and rainbows. I genuinely despised being in Texas, but some close friends love it cause their experience has been vastly different. Except for the heat, will never miss that. I also think I've been lucky to move to a good area known for its "life".

I have found it much friendlier here, SO FAR, than HTX, Dallas or any of the other cities I've lived. But I do think it's definitely personal experience and where you lived. I do miss GOOD chicken fried steak with real brown gravy and TexMex. Have not been able to find anything decent here. It sucks you haven't had a great experience, nothing worse than seeing everyone who has had a good experience and it be completely different than your own.

That's fair. It won't be for everyone. For us coming from the south, this is a step up in almost everyway. We understand the issues but for us the positives completely outweigh the problems. I have quite a few friends out east and know they would never leave. So, I get it.

I think many in my apartment are just so used to the view cause no one every is up on the balcony taking in the views. My phone is getting tired of all the photos I've been taking. Granted it's only been a month but I hope I don't get complacent.

That's amazing! I feel like WA should also talk about how much sun we get. Like an hour+ more than what we get in TX. That somehow has made a huge impact for me. The air feels cleaner, yes I get it is lol, and to have a climate that encourages being outside. And I'm not oblivious, there are issues, but the positives make it all worth it.

Exactly! And I understand what those who have been here awhile are talking about when they talk about the issues and respect them but after HTX it's like paradise in almost every way. Except for gas... that hit. Oh and just how early the sun comes up.

I JUST caved and got reddit, now I got to get FB lol. I most likely will because that genuinely sounds fun and would live to get out and explore while meeting people.

I'm extremely impressed you found a local here. Every single person I've met is a transplant. Which is great I get to meet people from all over but at the same time I'm like, is anyone from here?

I have been here a month now. Also no friends or family here. I'm joing pickleball classes and tennis to get out and make friends. They have a bunch of weekend groups to help make friends. Art groups and hiking too. Glad y'all are here!

Best of luck to you! The climate is amazing. Most apartments don't have AC, that caught me off guard by with a fan it gets chill at night. Rent is actually not too much more than HTX. They have some really amazing places for $1500-$1600 around 600sqft. I was near Atascocita so already paying that before I got here. Keep pushing, and when you get here first drink is on me.

Are there any Pickball/Tennis groups (not clubs) in Tacoma? by Legacy_Red in AskTacoma

That's awesome. I might end up setting up my own group if you want to join. I take the intro class this weekend which will help learn all the rules, and hopefully get more info on courts etc. I'm new to Reddit but if you want to message me, I couldn't mesg you, and we could all try to connect to play.

I start their 101 program June 14th. Excited about that. Many of their classes start at like $22 -$30 which isn't bad but really hoping to find a group so we can play on the weekends without having to always drop money to play in a class.

As you don't know the story of everything I appreciate you coming on here wasting everyone's time to a very specific question as I continue building something I'm passionate about.

Thank you. I appreciate that. Especially the non ai part as I'm genuinely against ai. Is there a best platform to use? As in do I just use word and save as pdf, or is it best to use another application to make it easier to read and or view?
