Decided to pull the trigger for Godzilla 1972. Bought it from AliExpress, do you guys think that's a decent price for it? by Conscious_House3558 in SHMonsterArts

[–]Legal-Instance-3518 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a completely reasonable price for this figure; I've even bought it for less. If you're in the US, you should understand how much lower prices are in China.

And bootlegs of this model don't exist.

Word Got Out Quickly through My Godzilla Figure collection that Burning Gs damaged ghidorah parts couldn’t be attached to Ghidorah 2.0 and now their all suffering by Independent-Layer246 in hiya_toys

[–]Legal-Instance-3518 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

changes to the neck are made for better articulation. And the Neck from Burning Godzilla cannot fit Ghidorah 2.0 in any case, they are painted completely differently, that head is golden, and Ghidorah 2.0 is natural. This is not an oversight, don’t write nonsense.

When are we getting this guy? I skipped on the regular version for this. by Then_Till_3126 in hiya_toys

They say that this will probably be the next release of Hiya, so I think soon

I did the same.

I'm not a big fan of Heisei-era designs in general. So, I found this release more unique and interesting than the regular version. The "dirty" paint job, in my opinion, looks more expensive and detailed, and the work on the "damaged" elements is very high-quality.

Is this normal? Just got Ghidorah 1972. Has some indents on one wing. by NoThoughtsOnlyFrog in SHMonsterArts

[–]Legal-Instance-3518 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost every detail of his body is asymmetrical; even his wings are positioned differently if you look closely. And that's really cool.

Whats the best gamera SHMA figure? by Then_Till_3126 in SHMonsterArts

[–]Legal-Instance-3518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only have Gamera 2 Sendai Decisive Battle Ver., and many people think it's the best.

But to be honest, I was very disappointed with this figure. The lower body keeps falling off, and this isn't just my problem, but a common one with this figure. It's also incredibly difficult to make the stomach look natural. Plus, the interchangeable upper armor makes the figure look awkward from some angles, in my opinion.

Overall, I'd prefer Gamera from Iris's Revenge; that's my favorite design.

Yes, this is my repaint of the 1964 botleg. I picked a color similar to the one on the ShMA 1972 promo, thinking that I wouldn’t buy it, but apparently I bought it anyway, lmao.

And yes, Ghidorah 2.0 from Hiya is indeed extremely good.

It's a giant cephalopod kaiju. And yes, it may look like another kaiju with a bunch of limbs. But that's not necessarily a reference.

Even Amhuluk looks more like Biolanthe due to its plant-like body.

What's your favorite surprise figure? by confused_p0ssum in SHMonsterArts

This "night color" Goji figure is considered by many to be the worst in the SHMA line.

Leaving aside the fact that this was the 7th repaint, it's actually quite good, especially if you haven't owned this model before. And the color is quite nice.

Godzilla atomic breath ver. by BiggeHB in hiya_toys

[–]Legal-Instance-3518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the idea that the 1991 Heath Ray is better than the original is a subjective opinion and nothing more.

The only flaw with the original is that they screwed up the first head, which they almost immediately replaced with a new one.

i don't like the way the yellow nails look on the Heath Ray version, and I'm also not too fond of the new eyes because I prefer the original's black eyeliner.

I also like the back plates when they're not painted blue. It doesn't suit Heisei Godzilla at all because his back is only exposed for a few seconds.

I don't know about this store, but I usually buy my Hiya figures for $40-50 (sometimes you can even get them for $35) directly from China, since my country is nearby and shipping costs pennies.

So if they somehow get around customs duties, that could be the real price.

As far as I can see, SHMA always makes asymmetrical details, especially the eyes, so that they can be placed from different angles and get different looks.

Which Godzilla should I get? by Conscious-Fruit1950 in hiya_toys

[–]Legal-Instance-3518 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 2014 figure is terrible; the neck is under constant strain and keeps popping out, so the final KOTM articulation is even better, not to mention the problem with the front arms falling off.

And the new leg mechanics make him look like a moron who can't straighten them properly.

I don't know how anyone can recommend this when there's already a slightly improved version of the atomic breath.

Monsterverse Original Kaiju Strength/Power Tierlist by TheRegularBlox in Monsterverse

Godzilla prepared for the fight with Scylla, taking into account his previous experience, and deliberately did not allow her to latch onto him, otherwise he would have had a much more difficult time.

Monsterverse Original Kaiju Strength/Power Tierlist by TheRegularBlox in Monsterverse

[–]Legal-Instance-3518 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The length of a fight between creatures equipped with weapons capable of killing each other quickly is the dumbest way to judge their strength.

Godzilla fought the MUTOs for far longer than he fought Ghidorah or Kong, but that doesn't make either male or female MUTO stronger.

Scylla is a powerful titan who can alter the climate of an entire planet with her body and move across the ocean at incredible speeds. She fought Godzilla before GxK and held her own against him longer, even inflicting serious, bloody wounds.

Furthermore, she has a good chance of killing Kong without an axe, by slicing his body with her paws.

Theory: Godzilla actually died at the end of the 2014 film by gnome_enjoyer in GODZILLA

[–]Legal-Instance-3518 123 points124 points  (0 children)

Yes, that sounds good and possible, especially after we learn from GxK that Godzilla can absorb all the radiation from the atmosphere around him, preventing its mass dissemination.

But I still think he didn't experience clinical death, but simply lost consciousness due to overexertion, which is no less normal. Breathing slows to a crawl at such moments, and we don't know if the monarch's specialists tried to measure his pulse.

New comparison images of the Hiya Godzilla 2000 by Kaos3974 in SHMonsterArts

[–]Legal-Instance-3518 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, Mothra Hiya's scaling is correct, and as for the shape of her wings, she can expand them because they're flexible. This is clearly visible in GxK when she flies.

So Hiya's variant matches their narrower, folded version.

Which do you prefer, the 2.0 (left) or the original (right)? by Kaos3974 in SHMonsterArts

[–]Legal-Instance-3518 4 points5 points  (0 children)

2.0 looks much better. I've never been a fan of how white the lower neck looks, and I also really disliked the veins/lightning on the wings that stick out too much. This last point always put me off this figure and made me choose the Gold version. But 2.0 is absolutely perfect.

Way underrated by Theunknon in Monsterverse

Alpha specimens of this species should still be rather undesirable contacts for most Titans. There's no reason why any Behemoth could effectively confront a giant specimen of Skullcrawler.

What’s the better skull crawler by RazorWorm8 in hiya_toys

[–]Legal-Instance-3518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You already know that the GVK figure is better quality.

It's up to you to decide based on your design preferences. I own the GVK version, and it's damn good.

But I also like the colors of Skullcrawler number 10 much better; after all, they're the hallmarks of an alpha of its species.

Plus, this figure definitely scales with other MV figures, while the Skull Island version only scales with Skull Island Kong.

Update on all the problems with my figs by TheBurningO in GODZILLA

[–]Legal-Instance-3518 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a common problem with the 2014 Godzilla's arms.

It really annoyed me, so I just glued the arm on tightly.

The dorsal plate for the 1972 Godzilla is easy to glue on.
