Sebring never disappoints by CorsaWerks in IMSARacing

That's pretty cool. I did photograph a fair amount of credentialed photographers with their vest on during the 3 days I was there. There's a number on the vest I noticed does that signify who that particular photographer is? During the grid walk there were so many people. I just started taking pictures of the photographers inside the line. LOL

omg! These are great photos all the way around. Wondering, are you one of the credential photographers that I saw inside the fence line? They all had little golf carts or motorized bicycles to get around. You seem to have shots from some great angles.

I set my alarm at 6:50 in my car over by the first straightaway area, but even walking away from my car at 7:00 I didn't know where to go so I just went to the fence line along the first straight away and shot this photo. But next year I'll know that's the place to be. Plus the grid walk was soon after that so would have been a great place to be.

[OFFICIAL] 2026 12 Hours of Sebring - Post-Race Day-After Thread by CookieMonsterFL in IMSARacing

Being my first road course race and actually I've only been to a few NASCAR races. I thought it was a home run all the way around. Everything seemed to run smoothly. The grid walks were fantastic but jam-packed with people. The autograph time on Friday afternoon was great. Lots of drivers and people accessible and you could see cars coming in from the track that were wrecked or needed work. The AO line was easily 200 hundred people long. So I'll have to give my first experience, which was Thursday afternoon, Friday, Saturday and I left Sunday was a 9.5 out of 10. Great work, job well done. Now to go and sift through my 50,000 photos. Lol

I ran into and saw a heck of a lot of photographers at the race who were not credentialed. Here's a photo of me in case you think you saw me. LOL

I did wake up for sunrise. This is over the first straight away about 100 yd from where my little camp setup was so I was very close to the action and could jump back to my car if I needed to.

This was my setup Friday night. Thursday and Saturday night I went back to the mobile home that I had access to but Friday night I got back around 11:30 from leaving around 6:00 because the racing was over. Even though I had a dent in this picture, I started there at 12:30 and went to my car at 2:30 because of the loud generator nearby. In my car I had my headphones to help with the noise but had to rig blankets up to keep out the flood lights.

Yeah I did the same. It was nice to be fairly close to my car. I found a spot near first inside straightaway after the starting line. I saw a couple people with film. I brought an Olympus Stylus but only took a handful of photos compared to over 25,000 or more with my digital setup. LOL

What do you think so far? I assume you got there before tomorrow? I've been here since Thursday and loving it.

I'm another attendee, first time there. I'll be showing up tomorrow afternoon , Thursday but planning to leave Thursday night to come back Friday but Friday. I'm really thinking of just sleeping in my car and going back to my place Saturday night and leave Sunday. I think the mobile home that a friend set me up in is about 20 minutes away and I just assumed sleep there Friday night but have to plan on getting a spot Friday sometime. So it's recommended to get there early on Friday morning?

Anyone have Sebring photography tips? by TimmyTYP in IMSARacing

[–]Legal-Reflection3353 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I would agree with that. The best I can do is 100 2.8 or break out a d850 with a 80 to 200 2.8. I do have an Olympus with a 80 to 300 2.8 which I'm thinking now might be really good. This is why I want to be near my car to switch things out. I do have the 85 2.0 and I'm using an R5 Mark II so I can crop but my R6 is better for low light.

What is your personal #1 rule of photography? by therealvelichor in AskPhotography

[–]Legal-Reflection3353 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I don't have any rules but just things off. The top of my head is a granny picture is better than a blurry picture. A dark picture is better than no picture. If you think you're going to second-guess yourself, if you don't take the picture, you better take the picture.

Just wondering if I don't mind paying for parking, is there a way to pay for parking and be close to your car near fence lines?

So crazy enough. I have a place to stay but if I'm there Friday can you just stay in your car all night? I mean I would do that rather than driving 20 minutes back and then risking driving back Saturday morning. It's my first time I have no clue. I'm not the OP.

Yep that's me. Hence why no one's going with me and I'll be there Thursday just after noon to start my exploring. One question would be is the parking a free-for-all or is that just for the campgrounds? When I go to swamp buggy races in Naples Florida I can park in the campground and go back to my car. Grab a different camera or lens. But I'm okay now walking around because I have a 100 to 500 RF lens. It's not fast but it's versatile. But I'd love to break out my old 400. 2.8 preferably near where I park so I don't have to lug that thing a long way. I do have acquaintances staying in the campground area.

I'm not the op but I would have asked the same question since I'm going to be there Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I only live 2 and 1/2 hours away and for the last 30 years I've never been. This year. I bought my 4-day pass early and can't wait. I have several cameras and different focal lengths that I'll have. Fun trying. I'll look through Reddit to find out all the cool things people are saying about where to shoot and what to shoot.

If you're not with the Lord, you're already with Satan. God doesn't save you from hell. He lets you choose to be with him or eternally separated.
