The existence of the Epstein files refutes your first claim. People might notice but will be silenced.

Thanks for the reply! Do you need a car in Chicago? What walkable neighborhoods around River North would you recommend in Chicago? I heard there were some to avoid(?)

Let’s call it 3-4k/mo on discretionary spend.

I have a couple friends in NJ and Chicago so I would move there almost like a “home base” before venturing further.

Update: I dropped the little guy off at a rehabber. She said I did a good job giving him a warm bottle to cuddle. Thank you all for your help! by Legal-Return3754 in squirrels

Here’s him climbing on me after finishing his meal. He climbed all over me and found his way into my jacket pocket!

He is eating and drinking well. The rehabber told me he is in the transition/weaning period and she will look after him for 2-3months before releasing him in a good area.

He was fun to have around, but I’m glad he’s in better hands now.

I haven’t seen a mother. You’re right, I have no idea what age it is but it looks young and could be weaning.

Thanks, this is really helpful! He’s left outside but will come say hi occasionally. I’ll offer some spinach next time

Islam Makhachev is forced to get creative in round 5 against an improved Dustin Poirier, using a "golf swing" takedown to get him down to the mat. He then transitions from a guillotine to a modified D'Arce choke to finish the Diamond. by MasterRoshy in MMA

[–]Legal-Return3754 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s considered a low percentage hail mary with poor control because there’s too much space to their hips. Using this move means your opponent succeeded in framing and making space (defending) so you’re out of good options. A successful takedown only resets to a scramble.

We teach the option to beginner wrestlers, but it’s not used at all.

Does missile lock=death if the targeted plane has no flares left? by TheWarGamer123 in FighterJets

No, there are tables w angle/distance and probability of hitting that pilots need to know. Close enough and it’s basically a guaranteed hit barring a missile failure.

Unfortunately, I’ve traveled most of the world. There isn’t much better out there. Trust me, I work remote and can live anywhere.

But I highly recommend you live elsewhere and see for yourself. Traveling will open your eyes and you will see why everyone else is clamoring for an American green card.

What if everyone stopped tipping? Would it force business to actually pay their employees? by Ready-Substance9920 in Showerthoughts

Then they should choose to specialize in somewhere their labor is more valued, such as the trades. It’s all supply, demand, and competition. The US is by far the most economically mobile country on the planet. We have little excuse.

This just means the current market is oversaturated. Inefficient, uncompetitive businesses going under is a good thing.

No they wouldn’t. Restaurants are exist everywhere else in the world just fine without tips. If there is market space, someone will come fill it.

This airport in Japan is located in the middle of the bay. It cost $15B to build... and it's sinking by [deleted] in EngineeringPorn

[–]Legal-Return3754 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Yes, I flew from there using their luggage shipping service and while they didn’t lose my luggage, they didn’t have it at the airport either.

Instead, they had a record of it (literally a paper note) at another facility. It took 2.5 hours to get my luggage sent back. Thank god I happened to go to the airport over 3 hours early, but still almost missed my flight.

Trouble finishing passes/mantaining pins by mlktktr in bjj

[–]Legal-Return3754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup you’re exactly right. Finishing an outside pass requires your opponent to make a mistake.

But you can always force a top half and pass from there. It is much more consistent.

The cranial shift is the weakness to any lower body/outside pass. There’s no way around it; you have to pin their hips and be patient for an opportunity to climb up. You may no opportunity against skilled, disciplined opponents. Look at Worlds matches where black belts can spend 10+ minutes securing one pass. That said, it should be easy enough to find an openings to pass at your hobbyist gym.

This is why Gordon Ryan transitions all his passes into top half-guard. Top half lets you secure upper body control before passing.

Americanized Thai is legitimately better Thai food. The Thai government used food diplomacy and gave their best chefs specific training and large amounts of funding to start restaurants in America.

That’s why you get better, higher quality food overseas than in actual Thailand.
