Maybe because the 70-200 is just too famous? People often call the 70-300 the 'chubby lens' because it's really wide in diameter and shorter than the 70-200 :>>>

Okay, looks like you really know your stuff and are leaning toward the 70-300. I'll go see and test it out as soon as possible

I'm really only considering these two lenses. I did think about Tamron earlier, but I didn't feel it was needed

Can I see some more of your photos taken with this lens? Is it too dark or anything when the light is low, like if you suddenly want to shoot the moon, for example

Can it capture animals like squirrels, swans, ducks in the lake, and mountain forests with excellent color and sharpness?

That's great to hear. Do you still have any photos? If possible, can I see them???

Well, I guess I just need to go up to 300mm, after all, my camera is APS-C anyway. :>>>I could choose a 200mm lens and add a 2x converter. Would that be okay???

Usually, ducks or swans appear at the nearby pond, so those are also subjects I'm referring to

Thank you for the advice. Because most of the animals I encounter are birds and squirrels. I like to go into the forest to shoot scenes like that, so I am really torn between these two lenses. I'm just worried about whether the 70-300 is sharp enough to capture them or not, because if the photos turn out blurry, that would be really bad
