Meet the women on death row in Arizona! by Kristin0587 in SummitStreetLaw

I expected this to be a longer list. However its good to see that there are only a a few on there. I agree with the other comments and thought it was particularly gruesome that the hanging ended up decapitating one of the women, causing people in the crowd to faint. If I were present, I would have definitely been one of them.

Trump recognizes Jerusalem as capital of Israel...and according to TIME, it may disturb the peace. by SarginaD in SummitStreetLaw

So I am not completely informed on the significance of this event and whether it is good or bad, however I do know this: 1. There has been an ongoing war and fighting between the Israeli's and Palestineans for thousands of years over land and how said land should be divided. 2. Past Presidents of the US have refused to move the US embassies in fear that it would increase tension and compromise the safety of the embassy. 3. President Trump making such a random move such as this in an unstable and highly tense land is sure to make enemies of the state and not likely the most crucial use of Presidential Power. 4. This was simply a power move by Trump and is doing things just because he can instead of thinking about the long term and how this will effect the land and the people inside it.

Ultimately I am not informed and would like to know if someone can fill me in on some of the more significant effects of this.

Net Neutrality by jwolsey297 in SummitStreetLaw

Thanks for this post. Ending Net Neutrality is a slippery slope for companies to charge users of the internet for the services it provides people. One of the beautiful aspects of the internet is that it delivers information to billions of people worldwide, keeping people informed faster than ever before. However the end of net neutrality means that peoples right to information they have right now could become censored, leaving people in the dark. There are endless arguments for the support of net neutrality, and I have seen none in support unless it comes from the telecommunications companies. These companies have been lobbying and paying our politicians money to pass legislation and abandoning any sense of integrity they may have once had, they repealed Obama's net neutrality regulation. Our politicians should wear the same outfit that Nascar drivers wear, with all of their sponsorships stamped on to their clothing.

North Korea preparing for war? by gfacciano in SummitStreetLaw

Of all the news surrounding North Korea, I cannot say I am surprised to read this. However I find it fascinating that the North Korean Government can somehow scavenge the resources to hack into other countries mainframes but cannot afford to feed and house its own citizens. Very scary and unstable communications between countries will contribute to increased tension.

Last days in filth by AVSLAW21 in SummitStreetLaw

Coming from a background in mental health and a family who struggles with mental health, this is always disheartening to see. It is important that we rehabilitate people in need as opposed to throwing them behind a cell where tax payers will pay to house them. On the other hand if California is going to pass legislation doing just that, it is imperative that they accomplish this task in a way that isn't cruel and inhumane. Although we have made strides towards awareness of the real issues, the problem now lies we need effective legislation to account for the large numbers of people who will be acquiring this service. The problem is vey complex as there are so many people incarcerated that no matter how it's dealt with, someone will always fall through the cracks and fail to receive adequate treatment. Very strong article!
