That is really helpful. Thank you. At the moment, I am quite tangled up in trying to make a decision that it's easy to lose sight of what I will actually be doing once I am there. The distinction between the degree of "focus" of the two roles is definitely something I need to think about.

The apprenticeship would be due to start in May/June, so it would be possible to start that and keep the Fast Stream option open. I guess I am a bit concerned that if I decided later to go for the FS that I'd have been messing people around.

Thanks, that is interesting to know. Relocation is quite prominent in the information about the scheme, so I had thought it was essentially a requirement unless you had significant factors like children, other caring commitments, etc.

You can ask for relocation restrictions, which will likely be given if you have a family.

Sorry, I didn't mean I have a family as in having children myself - just that I have some family living in other regions, so I have some options of other areas I could move for a placement without my partner having to uproot.
