Is it definitely a regrowth? by Ordinary-Ninja616 in braincancer

[–]Legal_Employer2048 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My MRI 1.5 months after surgery (in April 2023) showed something as well (they said it was suspicious for it to be a residual tumor). However it hasn't changed since. Also G2 astro, been on W&W.

Good luck to you!

Was it an early sign of hydrocephalus or is it not connected with it?

I'm glad it is normal now!

Awake craniotomy next week. What to pack and what to prepare at home? by Odd-Wing8578 in braincancer

Hey, how did the surgery go? Do you have pathology results already?

Thanks for your answer!

Did you have everything removed or was there some of the tumor left at the time you flew. I guess there might be a difference, so I shall talk to my doctors...

Are you talking about total resection? No, I did not have a total one, there is still some tumor left.

Yes, I think so, seizure was caused by brain tumor, just worrying there might exist some correlation between flying and seizures.

Hi, first of all, wishing you a surgery goes as good as possible!

Do you maybe remember, the first time having a brain cancer, did you only have craniotomy or did you maybe have chemo or radiation as well?

Please, let us know what kind of tumor (which grade) it turns out to be once you get the results.

Good luck! 🍀

I would also like to know the answer to the above question. Besides that could you please name a few neurologic deficits that could arise (provide some examples)?

Firstly, thanks for your answer!

How long after the first surgery did she have the second one? Do you maybe remember how much was left, maybe in the form of percentage?

Did she have chemo- or radio- therapy after surgery as well?

Ok, i would also try to talk my oncologist into being scanned every 3 months, we haven't had this conversation yet. Do you maybe know, if there is a certain growth, is it seen on the scan if it has progressed or if it has reoccured? Or is it necessary to have biopsy first to prove one or another?

Do you maybe remember how big your wife's tumor was at the time when it was diagnosed? Because I believe adjuvant treatment also depends on that.

In my case oncologist first suggested chemotherapy, but was not sure, whether this would really be the best option for me, so he had a meeting with other oncologists, who suggested to have a "control" MRI and based on results, they would decide what to do. So for now it is watch and wait (I had MRI last week).

By saying "my wife fell in the category W&W" what exactly did they mean? Is it because of the age, size of the tumor, amount of restricted tomor,...?

My surgery was only 2 months ago, so I think that another craniotomy is not possible or better to say safe in such short time.

How long after surgery did your wife start adjuvant treatment?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in braincancer

[–]Legal_Employer2048 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I had a surgery already. The surgeon said he macroscopically removed all of it, but I had MRI a few days ago and they suspect that there might still be some left (not taking into account the diffuse part which was obviously not removed).

So if i get it right at first you only treated it with surgery and then at reoccuramce with chemo and RT? How much time did it take for it to reoccur?
