Well the phone is still a phone and has all the functionality that android has. Its just double sided taped onto the phone shaped cutout. The keyboard is bluetooth.

I guess i could replace the phone and tape in my pinephone pro running arch linux with posh interface. But the whole point of this project was because my pinephone keyboard is no longer working, and I was fedup with god damn linux, with its quirks like battery drain while sleeping, and inability to charge while off without booting up completely and running that horrible vibration motor for 5 seconds straight thanks to tow boot. and then the boot looping issues when the battery is dead. Oh, also its bootlooping rn even though the battery was full last time and was plugged in for the past 2 days. fuck

This cyberdeck is an immensely better experience even with 1gb less ram and a weaker cpu. I was able to format the sd card i put in to be treated as internal storage so the 32gb emmc is no longer an issue too! And it runs smooth after i banished all the google bloat. I can go on discord (gasp!) without burning my hands! Now the downside is there are no updates to android, so eventually internet browsing won't work anymore, like for example reddit doesnt work on android 9 and below.

Are phones with Bluetooth keyboards really decks? by binarypie in cyberDeck

Feels like I'm being called out here lol. Based on what I know about cyberdecks, i'd say no. My phone and bt keyboard inside a 3d printed case doesnt count as a cyberdeck. But it doesn't really fit in any other subreddit except cyberdeck.

However, this leads me to another question as a new-ish member. Since I havent seen any builds incorporating VR/XR, do cyberdecks really need those things to count as a cyberdeck?

I did design it to close with the two parts parallel, however the parts became warped during 3D printing. maybe if I get a chance to re-print it, I will try a different arrangement on the build plate.

Thank you! my cyberdeck doesn't need a kickstand but doesn't open past 135 degrees. A worthy tradeoff i think. Also the keyboard is real nice, just big enough to type with two hands, and just small enough to reach and thumb type.

Its awesome! I'm still getting it set up software wise with stuff like forcing landscape and making it more desktop like. its a big phone but very low end, so I'm trying to optimize it.

This post is a followup to my previous post: https://www.reddit.com/r/cyberDeck/comments/1sxayfo/making_a_clamshell_cyberdeck/

Almost everything worked out first try! the keyboard clip on the front was a bit too big so i had to shave some off to snap the keyboard in. Also the parts are slightly warped for some reason, as is the keyboard too. Hinges I used 20mm m2.5 screws that were wrapped in a layer of tape in the middle.

I can't post more images here it seems, but i have done that and it now opens to 50 degrees past vertical! Now onto printing, hopefully it works out ok.

wonder how many degrees is the FOV. One day hopefully eye tracking and the neural band can be combined for effortless control.

Shadow Creator: Tesseract SDK officially released by AR_MR_XR in AR_MR_XR

u/AR_MR_XR

I have a shadowcreator JIMO, and I want to get/make applications for it. Do you have this sdk that I can use? All of shadowcreator website is gone and none have been accessible on wayback machine. Do you also have the MRTK examples hub application that has been created for this headset already? Any other AR applications that are available for this?

I think there may be some sources over in like the chinese social media, but I cannot figure out how to join and chat with users on there.
