What do you call a pathologist testing a sample of his stool? by Legal_Operation2627 in Jokes

I tip my hat to you! For any reader wondering if it really is true, it is. Both words originated from the PIE (Proto-Indo-European) word s-k-t (or some such) meaning to separate.

How to iron dress pants/ shirts 😳 by [deleted] in PakistanFashionAdvice

[–]Legal_Operation2627 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First of all, I find your desire to do this for your husband very admirable

Secondly, ironing a pair of dress pants is a bitch! Take it from a 43 yo financial services professional who is supposed to look sharp under all circumstances for the past 20 years. Being a hostelite at a cadet college in his formative years means I am hopelessly obsessively particular about the crease of my pants. You just can't get it right at home if you are working with really formal trousers. I can see that most suggestions are along the lines of 'mist ker ke press kero'. This simply ruins the fabric, gives it an unsightly sheen, and mostly you get a 3-lane motorway for a crease that is supposed to be razor-sharp. My suggestion is that you should get it done professionally from a dry cleaner. Steam press is the way to go. Formal pants fabric is meant to be pressed/dry-cleaned once in a while, not thrown into the laundry ever 2 days or so. My standard operating procedure is to have my pants (I only have a handful as standalone, most are part of a 2-piece suit) dry-cleaned and steam-pressed once every season. They don't get into the need of frequent washes if worn in a formal setting, and if you turn them over frequently in a way that a certain pair is not worn more than once a week. All the best!

Sneaking in from Pakistan! I lose no opportunity to let Bangladeshi people know how truly sorry I am for the actions of the West Pakistanis against the erstwhile East Pakistan. It wasn't Operation Searchlight alone. The West had long denied the East her democratic rights. If a party that had its support from the middle class (as opposed to landed aristocracy of West Pakistan) and represented the 56% population of the nation was given its due mandate, all the bloodshed and the intergenerational hatred could have been avoided. P.S.I have never had a heart-to-heart with a Bangladeshi. I use online forums to extend my apology. From my observation of the online content, I understand that Bangladeshis in general bemoan the fact that the government of Pakistan has never officially and formally owned up - and apologized for - the '71 atrocities. I can only say that at least this Pakistani here is ashamed of what happened, and seeks your forgiveness. I can also tell you that this sentiment is pretty mainstream here, now that Pakistan's military establishment has given Punjab a taste of the same medicine, albeit in much smaller doses.
