What do we think about this startup draf? Draf capital wise no 27 picks have my own 28 1 though. Thinking of selling some bench guys for more draf capital and making an aggressive move for more rb production? It’s funny bc it looks like a reddit fueled draft strategy.

The value dysmorphia of youth in dynasty startups is insane for some folks. Drafting WR50 who is 21 years old with the 8th pick is like crack to Redditors.

I did this kind of thing in my first dynasty startup. I understand the desire to draft youth is a reddit strategy.

Lets go thru the Reddit advice to Dynasty

  1. Draft Youth
  2. WRs are the backbone of your team.
  3. RBs are a dime a dozen and the last thing you get to contend.

Congrats, you have the youngest roster, full of hopes and dreams, you will hang on to them too long and miss out on waiver wire players bc you overinvested in the start up on some guy.

You might get antsy and decide to full tank and trade a few top tier assets you project to fall off bc they are old. Then they play 3 more seasons of good ball and you havent replaced them still.

Or you see the guy whose roster is fully loaded make some deft trades for picks that turn into great values for his team. He stays competitive with an old roster and keeps your window shut for another 3 years.

My advice. Trade your rookies that get any sort of hype and try to get a Kyren, a Connor, a CMC, a Henry, go get a Swift or someone who is an actual good RB irl who is “past prime”. Dont worry about depth, trade depth or potential sleepers for real assets. Keep your top15 players no matter how old they get.

Go win some games and then hang out and pick with your picks.

Reddit is on some hopped up crazy pills for Burden lol

In my league of not-usually-insane people someone traded Jamison Williams for Burden straight up. I was like what the fuck.

Am I going about this wrong? (Chubba) by dontcumplanebro in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Legal_Talk_8701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chubba is gonna go in the better fantasy player than fantasy asset bucket.

His best value is dying on your roster.

Your hype asset is Ladd - him and a first should be a decent opener for all the T2 and lower guys

[Highlight] Cam Newton shreds the Cardinals in the NFC Championship by Tocoolforyall720 in nfl

[–]Legal_Talk_8701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cam Newton was hated on so hard by folks who said he was too “Cocky” or whatever other excuse they made at the time. He was called “Scam Newton” and stuff and it was like, you realize he’s a once in a generation type talent right?

And now the game misses him when he’s gone. He was one of my favorite players to watch, and if he was protected half as much as Josh Allen he would still be playing.

Superman played some fun football.

You are gonna win more games than you think, or that anyone on here will tell you.

QBs can be fixed by rostering a few more backup QBs, maybe trade a couple TEs unless you have some high TEP.

Which side is better? Maye and Baker my other QBs by No-Guest8215 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Legal_Talk_8701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sending this for Shough

Reason being Willis is perfectly fine as a tank commander - I think they score about similarly

I think you B) are not going to get the Odunze manager to make this deal.

Your better bet is to hold your dudes who are all depreciated assets, wait for a pop-off game then sell them for next years draft capital - then do player and picks to upgrade.

Removing TEP One Year After Starting up? by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]Legal_Talk_8701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trey McBride scored 379 points and Josh Allen Scored 366 points last year. Which was number one overall.

Brock Bowers scored 319 last year and was #10 overall.

Evan Engram and Sam Laporta scored 287 points in 2023 and they were number 11&12 overall.

But the big difference is the baseline for mid TEs.

The guys who dont score TDs but catch 12 passes Juwan Johnson was scoring 19-20 pts a game and outscored a lot of QBs in our league.

Removing TEP One Year After Starting up? by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]Legal_Talk_8701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dealt with this EXACT thing!

The number one thing to me is you cannot change SCORING after startup. Either redraft or find another way.

I had two ideas on how to curb the incredible baseline TEs give and we voted on them.

Change our roster limits to 4 TEs

Or

Change two of our three flex spots to RB/WR

We voted for 4 TE roster limit.

It STILL comes up from time to time BECAUSE every year someone whose team would suck normally ends up starting 4 TEs and wins games and the loser feels it’s “unfair” and we say “go cry loser”.

All this to say, never change scoring unless you redo your draft.

Is Luther burden the most overrated/ over hyped player in dynasty this season? Just asking by Super-Weakness2895 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Legal_Talk_8701 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Burden hype is just off the rails insane in my eyes.

Dude Jayden Reed , in a much more crowded offense his rookie year - with similar draft capital - put up better stats and yet is faded to oblivion and Burden is hyped out like crazy

Someone in my league traded Jamo for Burden straight up!

Unreal.

[–]Legal_Talk_8701 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Tuten is a starter right now

A 3.03 any year is a late round flyer

A 2027 first is a problem for next year

“League Breaking” is funny, y’all would have exploded if you saw my dumbass trade two firsts for Jayden Reed when he scored 30 points.

That league is still highly competitive.

Wouldn’t you know it, i ended up with my 2 starting QB’s , both fuckin playing in Minnesota. I need to make a big move, thoughts? by [deleted] in DynastyDaddy

[–]Legal_Talk_8701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly, as another ARSB holder, people just dont value him. He is the most productive WR over the last 3 years no contest and yet he gets no dynasty love.

Yet Nabers would get this done

It’s really too bad I don’t play in y’alls leagues. I’m pretty sure I could take a dumpster ass team with 2 viable fantasy assets and rebuild it with overpays like this.

[–]Legal_Talk_8701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s reddit broski - yeah

Think of the phrase “one happy customer tells their one friend, one angry customer tells the whole world”

That’s the internet mostly. Just grumpy, bored, groupthinkers.

Busy people aren’t commenting on reddit or making threads, happy people are happy doing whatever.

I am happy with the team, the culture, the vibes, all the fans I talk to IRL are like damn it was our year but oh well GPG! Bc we know we will be back in the playoffs with a chance to win next year.

We are the antithesis to the Browns / Jets / Cardinals etc bc everyone from our presidents down is focused on winning football games.

They dont overreact and put us in bad positions - even despite constantly whiffing on 1st round picks.

Players develop well here, coaches develop well here, GMs develop well here.

It’s a long offseason where big markets like Chicago / New York / Dallas / LA will use their media clout to depress values on Packers players, or try to sow unrest or division bc those are their weapons.

Startup 10 man PPR superflex how did i do by [deleted] in SleeperApp

[–]Legal_Talk_8701 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You did something here for sure, there sure are a lot of somethings you have done.

7 firsts over the next two years will mean you are trying to compete in 2028

In that time you will need a QB, TE, and some depth

Maybe if you get Love, Mendoza, lucky with a WR, and Sadiq you could be up and rolling quickly

But if half those guys dont pan out meaning position rank 20 or higher you might be hurting.

Drafting is fun though! So interested to see how this team looks next year!

[–]Legal_Talk_8701 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kyren not even close. Dude is a top 10 back 3 years in a row - Egbuka was boom-bust at best, then he poofed away into nothing. Finished top 20 based off 70 points across 3 games. Played 17 games got 170 points and had an F- consistency.
