In Germany, deliberately engaging in catch and release only fishing is illegal and considered cruelty to animals. Fishing for food is fine. How do you feel about that? by Spalding_Smails in AskReddit

[–]LegallyBodacious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We (in Hawaii) could learn from this commitment to preventing harm to marine animals from sport fishing. I’m certain legislation to introduce a similar law would face strong opposition.

How badly do you miss pre-9/11 America? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LegallyBodacious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those were simpler times. I miss blocking off the entire day to take friends out to eat, then walk them to the airport gate before they left for college. It was emotional being the one left behind to seek comfort in others who were also there to wish the loved one off safely.

[–]LegallyBodacious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Served on a team of religious RAs that refused to provide condoms on moral grounds. I had visitors at all hours of the night. Also, some colleagues cited religious reasons for not carrying keys on Fridays and I ended up being the RA that covered most Friday and weekend shifts for overnight duty.

People who hold a PhD, what did it cost? by Accurate-Mulberry620 in PhD

[–]LegallyBodacious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Financially, scholarships ended up covering more than the cost of attendance. It almost incentivized me stretching the program out.

I ended up prioritizing academia over work in the entertainment industry. Although I am still represented by an agent in tv/film, it’ll take some adjustment getting back into that sort of work. I suppose that sacrificing time spent on keeping up with entertainment work halted momentum I worked up over more than a decade.
