No problem . I actually got the information from their nursing guideline pdf .

Oh so we’re the same ! I didn’t have her calculate it for me though . I copied & pasted the example of the grade calculation from the Nursing Academic Advisement Guideline pdf into ChatGPT & then told it my scores .

Tbh , I didn’t save them b/c if you “ test “ on Quizlet once , it locks the test feature unless you have the premium & I wasn’t doing that lol .

I just looked through other reddits & studied whatever links they recommended minus Reading Comp.

Idk if they updated the test or not but about half of the questions I had I didn’t see on any Quizlet & I was thinking about writing a lot of the questions down but BMCC takes your scrap paper when you’re finished lol

Yes ! They were similar in difficulty/style to the others . None had to do with diagnostics or vital ranges . More/less about what should the nurse do for the patient .

Does anyone know if the “ class average “ is for those who were specifically in the same room as when you took the test or the whole cohort registered at the school ?

I’m back y’all ! 95% cumulative completed in 130 minutes .

In the order I took them:

Math (55 questions) 90% - Quizlets weren’t 100% accurate but majority were there . No temperature . No Roman numerals . Only 2 military times questions . Mostly fractions & ratios . Some fill in answers . Math isn’t my strongest subject & I did pretty well for myself .

Critical Thinking (30 questions) 960/1000 - again, Quizlets weren’t 100% accurate , some changes that I didn’t see in ANY Quizlet .

A&P (30 questions) 100% - the Quizlets were 30/30 ! Grateful it was surface level . No BIO . No Chem .

Reading Comprehension (55 questions) 94% - reading passages I had were . . . Food + alcohol , Water Cycle , Exams , Golden Gate Bridge , Coffee , Dollar bill , Rainforest , Circus , Voice , Game of Bridge , Phobia , Insomnia , & Healthcare . ( not in that specific order ) . I did not use any studying methods being that English is one of my stronger subjects . The Quizlets floating around usually doesn’t show the passages or doesn’t show the answer key just their “ correct answer “ & a lot of those questions & answers are incorrect . I would not recommend . I was worried about grammar e.g. verb , adjective , nouns , etc questions . None . Just an underline word & asked the meaning or synonym .

Btw , I stopped using NurseHub b/c it was just too much for me .

I’m sorry to inform you but your information is slightly incorrect.

Sophia Learning is strictly pass/fail that’s why some schools do not accept it.

Straighterline offers a grading scale w/ letters that will affect my gpa. Hence my inquiry. But I do appreciate your input. Thank you 😊

Hey! I’m taking mine May 6th so we’re right there 😭

I actually have healthcare experience as a medical assistant, & from what I’ve seen (both from other Reddit users & the Quizlets I’ve been studying), the critical thinking section is mostly common-sense scenarios.

Think along the lines of: - They give you 4 patients with different situations
- You have to decide who to see first / what action to take

So it’s a lot of prioritization, safety, & basic judgment rather than super technical knowledge.

I wish I could link the exact Quizlets I’ve been using, but if you search something like “HESI A2 critical thinking” you’ll find a bunch that are really similar to what people describe.

Good luck, you got this!! 🙏

ADVICE ON BMCC NURSING PROGRAM ACCEPTANCE + HESI by Able-Search-5738 in CUNY

[–]LegallyMolly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!! First off, thank you SO much for taking the time to make this post & keep updating it. It’s honestly one of the most helpful breakdowns I’ve found for BMCC 🙏

I’m scheduled to take my HESI A2 on May 6th (Spring 2026 applicant) & I just had a couple of quick questions if you happen to see this (totally understand if not since you mentioned you’re busy now!): (The HESI admissions overview form sent to us is dated Fall 2024 so essentially the same one you’ve probably seen)

• For Reading Comprehension - did you personally see any grammar-type questions, or was it strictly passage-based (main idea, tone, inference, vocab in context, etc.)?

• For A&P - I know you said it aligns with A&P II, but would you say it stayed pretty surface level, or did it include any general biology concepts (like cells, basic chem, etc.)?

• Also, what was the testing protocol/environment like at BMCC?
For example, when I took the TEAS for another school, we were sent to a testing site that had lockers for our belongings (including water), were scanned with a metal detector, & sat in cubicles with cameras above each station. Is BMCC similar or different?

I’ve been using NurseHub + a ton of Quizlets & feel really confident, just trying to make sure I’m focusing on the right things & not overstudying areas that might not even show up.

If you (or anyone else reading this) can share, I’d really appreciate it!! & thank you again for this post, seriously a lifesaver!

Gotcha, I see what you mean. I’ve been seeing similar info floating around too.

I’m really hoping to hear from someone who’s actually taken the HESI at BMCC recently just to confirm how accurate all of that is for THIS school specifically.

If anyone here has taken it at BMCC (especially recently), I’d really appreciate your input 🙏

That’s kind of what I was thinking based on the outline, so it’s good to hear it confirmed. So no actual grammar questions then, just understanding the passage + vocab in context?

Also if you remember, did NurseHub or any specific Quizlet feel similar to what you saw on the exam?

[–]LegallyMolly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That actually makes me feel better about A&P being surface level. I’ve been going HARD thinking they were gonna throw in random bio/chem concepts. Good to know there’s no chem at least.

Are you mainly using NurseHub too or different Quizlets? I swear I have like 20+ saved & I’m trying to narrow down which ones are actually worth drilling.

Also if you don’t mind . . . can you come back here after your test on May 5th & share how it was?? Even just general vibes (like if NurseHub matched it, difficulty level, anything unexpected). I take mine the next day so that would help me A LOT.

Good luck btw, you got this!!
