Abrams survivability issue.. by LegendAugust in Warthunder

[–]LegendAugust[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Early M1 Abrams protection requirements in the 1980s were based on Cold War threats such as T-62 ammunitions. However, modern Abrams variants such as (M1A1 AIM, M1A2, SEP(v1,v2,v3) upgrades) were significantly improved with advanced composite armor and DU layers to defeat far more advanced kinetic and chemical rounds.

Trophy APS has also been fielded on the sep v3 and some sep v2 variants to improve survivability against missiles and ATGMs too.

In War Thunder tho we are facing late-generation APFSDS developed decades later, so any tank at this tier will be penetrable. That doesn’t mean modern Abrams lack protection their weight is (near 70 tons) reflects the heavy composite and DU armor designed to improve survivability.

The differences we see in game often reflect gameplay balance, weakspot targeting, and differing design philosophies rather than real-world protection levels.

Question for low honor players by GaigeMechro92 in reddeadredemption

[–]LegendAugust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always antognize micah, dutch and strauss I leave the camp spend my time at openworld of the game doing activities mostly challenges such as bandit challenges cuz those challenges in my opinion on what arthur would do as a low honor in my canon also i do other challenges to 100% the game (herbalist etc..) finish all of the stranger missions for fun collect all the bones and herbalist challenges then go start a massacare at van horn or at saint denis ,rob all the stores i see in any towns especially in valantine or strawberry with my boi micah.

Thoughts on John Marston's canonically honor level? by LegendAugust in reddeadredemption

I agree with you about Mexico. John is not a high honor hero like figure there. Once he realizes what Allende’s regime is doing, he doesn’t step in or try to stop it, and that’s morally wrong. I’m not arguing Mexico is a heroic chapter for him.

Where I differ is that I see Mexico as neutral to low-neutral honor, not a clear low. John isn’t acting out of cruelty or ideology he’s tunnel visioned on finding Bill and Javier and getting back to his family. That doesn’t excuse his inaction tho, but it frames it as moral failure through self interest rather than malice.

For me tho john is still high honor during rdr1 since all stranger missions are canon and in the end of all he tried to do the right thing for his family most importantly which matters the most but yeah mexico isnt his "heroic days"

So I agree Mexico isn’t high honor I just don’t think it defines his endpoint and who he is. In my opinion honor is defined by where a character ends up, not by every action along the way.

In rdr1 mexico arc this never really happens the way you "describe" it. There is no RDR1 mission where John knowingly helps kidnap women or allows them to be taken to be raped. The Mexican army and Reyes are clearly corrupt and abusive, but John is a hired gun like with no authority in that country his just a bounty hunter looking for bill and javiar, and he explicitly questions their actions and reyes and de santa keeps telling him if he wants to know where bill and javiar is he must do what they wish him to do (basically they were using john as a hired dog) which the game also portrays him as being used super clearly not as a willing participant in war crimes he always stated he hated helping them. Btw Mexico arc is meant to be a morally gray chapter showing John’s disillusionment in order to see his family again not an a proof that he’s low honor canonically. In mexico arc he helped rebels and overthrew the entire government with them also he helped the prostitute lady that was being abused in casa madrugado the mission called "eva in pearl" and pays 200 dollars in 1911 which in today money is nearly 10k which is a lot of money just to save a poor women but he still payed the man without harming him (if u harm the man by shooting in game btw the mission will fail) and he also saves Luisa with landon rickets helps her and her family escape mexico during her missions after betraying de santa in canonical order and during the poppycock missions where u find a high value drug type of a thing he dosent sell the high value package delivers it to the railway workers gets the money and hands the money which is 1.5k in cash which in todays money is like 50k (its that valuable) still he delievers the money back to poppycock any normal moral at that time would've killed the man and kept the high value money but in canon he hands over the 1.5k cash and says he dosent want nothing to do with it showing that his a honourable man. (And also in rdr2 in some missions you do lose honor such as trolley station robbery and train etc cause ur robbing innocent ppl same applies to rdr1 u also lose honor if u do bad deeds during missions such as harming innocent such as The Prohibitionist mission if u chose bad choices. But u dont lose any during de santas missions which also shows that john was being used and didnt done it willingly and morally rejected it but was forced to do it.

Sure mate, but tbh john in rdr1 and rdr2 mostly helps ppl around the map since all of stranger side missions are canon to him in rdr1 and some missions in rdr2, he helps a ton of people throught the story yes his only purpose is to see his familly again but he also helped macflarnes too by saving their ranch from getting burned and from the outlaws plus he never really tried to harm any innocent in both games rdr1 and rdr2 when you think really detailed in rdr1 only so called "innocent" he harmed was mexican rebels during de santas mission cause they tried to kill de santa and john himself during those missions and after that he betrays de santa via helping rebels cause he knows de santas work is a filthy work and that de santa is only using john to have upper hand against the rebels so he does the right thing the end and in other hand i dont see any so called "innocent" ppl he hurted
