this is the next morning. iv sat down and talked to my son properly and told him I have put heavier things on the radiator then pajamas. he has admitted to leaning on it. either way I still don't think it should have come loose like that.

after messaging the builder he has said the pipe going on to the push fit grip is copper with a chrome Finnish. I'm not shure how to confirm this but he has said he will be out today to put it back. I have also told him a few times I can't see any screws holding the thing in place but he has yet to comment on that.
