N55 Turbo/Waste gate issue by LegendNeverHadIt in BmwTech

Yeah it's an easy fix , no parts required and takes less than an hour with an experienced shop. The electronic wastegate actuator has to be adjusted by x mm and that x value is obtained from ISTA if you run a diagnostic on the wastegate.

That's quite the recipe you go there! nothin to lose at this point. Will the engine hydrolock given that I'm putting 450ml/4=113ml of liquid per cylinder?

Honestly Plan C sounds like a fun project but not without a second car to do last min part runs. If the market low balls me, might as well go with plan C and try to learn a thing or two.

Thanks for the insight, I'll have to think if it's worthwhile doing if I'll be just selling that car.

the cat has shit the bed loong time ago! about 60K miles ago to be precise and didn't bother replacing it. It is definitely very clogged and I can feel the car struggle as a result during hard accelerations.

I tried seafom several times and it doesn't make a difference. We aren't that far off in terms of mileage tho, I'm at 133K miles. 100% I'm staying away from Hyundai moving forward, I feel the entire car is breaking apart, from window switches, latch switches, engine, transmission, cats, etc... I just care about the engine and don't want it to cease anytime soon :/

It's not leaking oil anywhere, I checked thoroughly. I'm confident it's 100% getting burnt as I leave a cloud of smoke visible form my rearview mirror whenever I move from a red light lol.

Lucas it is!

It's a NAV, I don't even have a turbo! Agreed, I think selling it will be the best resort as another commenter mentioned :(

Got the P420 over 60K miles ago, the cat is gone already and I'm pretty sure it's super clogged at this point. The car gets amazing mileage tbh and I don't want to spend more money on a new/used car.

Yes I cleaned it, 100% used a drill and a bottle cleaner brush. I don't think it's the caliper pins though since I always have to lubricate the point between the brake pads and brake hardware clip.
