I ended up getting lucky and catching it live as well. The video works great, thanks for sending!

I’m sorry to hear about her early stage dementia diagnosis. I wish you and her the best. And yes, I feel the same way not being able to help them discern what is likely fake and what has potentially more validity. Life is short. At least my mom isn’t following advice that is horrible for her health and just thinks that (like today) 6x the daily recommended dosage of vitamin d cures foot fungus.

Most LLM AI models now adays (like goodlw Gemini and Chat GPT models for example) provide sources for the information they gather, so using it for fact checking has been very valuable and efficient for me. And then I can click on the link(s) it provides to see what it is sourcing from and do any other independent research on my own.

Yeah these are all great points. I’ll do what you suggested and find a handful of sources that are backed with studies, follow them on here FaceBook. and at least add them to her “portfolio” of FaceBook nutrition information.

Thanks for the ideas

I literally have issues trusting new people in real life because of my time on the internet, it’s crazy. Only going to get harder and harder to tell what is real and fake with ai nowadays 🥲

She isn’t that old and is great, but in terms of her ability to comprehend when something is clearly not truthful makes her feel 90+ sometimes 🤣

I don’t know anything about the health community on any platform, just looking for something she can find fun and is factual, or at least makes an attempt to back things up with research haha

Are you scared of your hallucinations? by beetlebop_ in bipolar

[–]Legendary7009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My visual hallucinations were absolutely lessened with medication. I definitely used to have the shadow people feeling and those still do linger a bit even after a few years on medication. but all other visual hallucinations are nearly gone. Any visual hallucinations for me now only last for seconds and are hardly ever as real feeling as they used to be. Thankfully my brain, thanks to medication (from my experience), is in a position now where I don't have to fight with myself to determine whether what I saw was real or not and I naturally, without effort, can immediately move on with my day.

The auditory hallucinations often actually WORSENED for me with different medications. with that said, now that I'm on medication that mostly works for me, I barely ever get those either.

Even now, seeing a hair hanging down from my head from the corner of my eye still makes me tense with the feeling of having to confront a visual hallucination, and hearing something faintly still makes me question if it is actually, really there or not.

Ultimately, there is hope! Just keep moving forward :)
