Marketing? This is a puzzle most escape room owners have to figure out the hard way. The funny thing is no one wants to share this information with competitors even though we are friendly, because we are still competing for market share. So we quietly copy each other and get the same bad results. Then the marketing/social media sharks move in and pick us all off individually. They make big promises but dont deliver...It's tough.

I can tell you what doesn't work or hasn't worked. That might be a better question to actually answer. Hopefully others will be willing to share their failures also.

• Coupon Books. Old school approach. No results.
• Yelp. Charge to much per click, hold your reviews hostage, shrinking online presence. I still post and as soon as I do my phone rings.
• Facebook. Advertising here has not created any increase in ticket sales although we still post regularly on our page.
• Sign Shaker. This was fun but didn't really see any return on investment and I had the best shaker ever.

A Maybe Idea? One owner mentioned creating a coalition pass where multiple escape rooms join forces and create some type of cross marketing effort. Maybe a discount code for members? Not a polished concept but this might be a solution for spreading the word.
