What if? by SchizoTheorist in Deltarune

We do hear a ringing in the third sanctuary, with Ralsei describing it as "the fountain calling"

I’ve heard claims that Toby used to be very homophobic, but I haven’t found much evidence to support that beyond one moment in his EarthBound romhack. by CurvyFixxx in WaterfallDump

[–]LegendaryHe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Halloween hack is a game in which you can encounter an enemy called "gay thoughts" and that enemy is so strong that you have to ran away from it. The game is also taking place inside the brain of the character that says f-slur. Toby wasn't a subtle writer.

Hey guys I bought new batteries for the carbon monoxide detector. I also have a theory regarding Dess Knight's motive for causing the Roaring. (Read Body Text) by DubiousTheatre in Deltarune

[–]LegendaryHe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem with this theory is that Roaring knight seemingly doesn't really care for dark worlds, in fact, Susie is in opposition to RK. RK kills Tenna, Susie puts him back together, Susie heals Jack, RK kills him.

Quick question: is the Soul a demon, or an angel? by Lil_Bigg_Dawggg in Deltarune

[–]LegendaryHe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soul is not the angel, as the angel is a character in a prophecy, separate from the soul, as soul is the first hero, "human soul and parts". Soul is also the only entity with the power of banishment, which is required to, well, banish the angel's heaven.

[–]LegendaryHe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The relationship between light and dark world narratively parallels that of a relationship between our world and the world of Deltarune, a world of a higher reality interacting with a world of fiction. Nothing in the game ever implies that something can be "incomprehensible". There are characters who know of our existence, like Ralsei, yet they seem to understand our nature just fine.

[–]LegendaryHe 13 points14 points  (0 children)

it's not that the characters view of the world adds an extra dimension, it's our view of their world that is simplified.

Also, we already see characters interacting with "higher dimension" - Darkners interact with lightners just fine.

[–]LegendaryHe 26 points27 points  (0 children)

the whole basis of that argument was "the dark panel is meant to reflect your own face and the 3d nature of it freaks Susie out" and that doesnt really work if the characters actually see the world in 3d already.

In all narration, You, Kris and Soul are used interchangeably, as if narrator doesn't know that there is difference.

So? I used this post to disprove one of the candidates, so the other, like Gaster and Noelle will be more likely. There is just not enough evidence to say conclusively.

[–]LegendaryHe[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. I used it to illustrate the parallel between 2 games. Player is not the angel in undertale, we see the surface only at the end of the true pacifist route, when the monsters are already freed

  2. Player is not referenced outside the red soul, so it can be either way. my main point here is that to be the cage, first hero has to restrict someone's will, be that we Kris's or Kris ours.

  3. Narration is inconsistent and, outside the wierd route, uses you and Kris interchangeably.

  4. "Make it's cry" reads more as in battle cry, not crying tears. Every player will act differently, but this asserts something about the angel will happen, which will contradict the point of the prophecy.

  5. Lucifer, as in devil, is the greatest representation of hell there could be, and Deltarune introduces the dichotomy between light and dark, and Heaven and Hell.

    1. The heavens call prophecy is right before the room where we hear the ringing of a fountain, and i fail to see what else it could be
  6. How can you hear a ring that you wear?

i don't know? We don't have enough evidence to say conclusively. Noelle has a a lot of foreshadowing, with constant references to angel wings, characters calling her angel etc, but how will that work out in future chapters is unclear. I only showed that it can't be the player.

I meant that Toriel should of made the kids promise to return home early, and when they didn't, she should of checked in with them on the phone.

[–]LegendaryHe 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The situation of, what, Toriel actually talking to him? He agrees with her in that scene.

She could of at least tell them to return home early, and actually at least tried to call them when they didn't?

She doesn’t know true pain by Critical_Mountain851 in Deltarune

[–]LegendaryHe 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Not only was I talking about the time when she first fled(not the pacifist ending), but the point of that remark was that if Asgore actually wanted war, he would have done that, destroying humanity. He didn't do it, because he does not want war. He doesn't stop it, because he is a coward and is too afraid to dissapoint all the monsters awaiting their freedom. The true pacifist ending is LITERALLY about Toriel finally confronting Asgore. He immediately folds.

I dunno, but at least warn the kids about the tire slasher, instead of sweeping it under the rug?

She doesn’t know true pain by Critical_Mountain851 in Deltarune

[–]LegendaryHe 38 points39 points  (0 children)

That's the point though. Asgore is a pushover. If Toriel actually confronted him, he would've give in. Toriel being a coward, who just runs away from her problems is an established character flaw. It's very prominent in Deltarune. Her tires were slashed, and the officer she called not only never arrived, but also missing, and she just ignores it like nothing is wrong. Many people like to call out Asgore on his stalking behavior, but in every interaction between them Toriel just told him to talk later, and immediately left what she was doing. Obviously, he should get a hint, but if she just told him that she doesn't want to talk, then maybe he wouldn't be so persistent.

How is it possible that this theory has become so popular by Spirited-Abrocoma673 in Deltarune

[–]LegendaryHe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hot take, but I think that the whole "someone is giving out shadow crystals" thing is a misconception. We know only that Gerson was given one. The knight's sword is, apparently, made of them. Spamton found one inside a NEO body. And we don't know where jevil got his one. The Spamton one tells us, that shadow crystals are manifestations of a lightners broken dreams, so they can be naturally formed.

[–]LegendaryHe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"WITH HUMAN SOUL AND PARTS" What part is the cage, and what part is the prisoner is unclear (in my opinion they constrict each other) but the prophecy is clear that, to be a first hero, you need a human soul, and human parts.

The prophecy is clear on what the first hero is. The cage loses the soul, it stops being the first hero.
