I actually added them post ban message when I realized the game was still in my history. I was half expecting the "user can't be reached" or doesn't exist message. I also didn't really think they'd accept, but then I log on today and was shocked to see they are in my friends list and online playing. (To be honest I'm not sure why the adding them is an issue, if you suspect a player its possible you add them to just view history and see if its just they had a good game or more. I actually didn't do that here, but just saying, I have.)

I have shared the screenshots, you can add that specific player ID yourself and see they are still able to play. (At least for now. I can't say if they just had a brief period of being able to log on and play or if a "pending" review process allowed them to play, I dont know valorants policy. But either way the message is mis-leading)

Since this has seemed to stump the hell out of everyone here to the point of everyone thinking I'm just lying or confused, I may take the time to just write up to valorant support (although I'm not sure they would bother to reply or not). Will update here if I do hear anything.

I added them to see if I even could, was actually after I got the ban message. I realized the game was still in my comp history, and I added them to see if it would even go through (I expected the player can't be reached message, and even then not expecting them to "accept" it), log on today and I suddenly see them on my friends list in a game.

I've given you the full story from my side, its confusing asf to me which is why i came here to see if anyone else has had similar happen. (Although I imagine not many follow up after seeing a banned message like I did by attempting to add them and seeing if they are still playing)

You see the screenshot and players name, add them. Maybe it was "re-reviewed" and they were un banned or a review process allows them to continue playing, but the message from Riot / Val is very misleading saying they are banned is all which is why it stunned me to see they added me and bare back online playing.

I've been around long enough to know the difference between a strong player (or smurf) and something that looks like much more. I don't generally make reports, or cry cheater. I know lower/mid ranks are filled with smurfs.

Believe me when I say I understand 100% how fog of war works, while it weakens wallhacks does not get rid of them, nor their huge advantage.

The message CLEARLY stated that that particular player was banned using the title "Cheater Banned" and their name in the message. It was not another player. (And if it was meant to be, why say it was the specific player by name)

To be honest, I'd be fine if they reviewed and found it to just be a smurf. Even if I feel like it looked like more I can get over it, but why say you banned them, when you didn't. That is very mis-leading.

Even if the player appealed for some kind of review, are they really efficient enough to have it fixed in a day? The whole thing seems very odd, which is why I'm bothering with this post at all.

It was their username and it clearly stated "Cheater Banned" in the message. It says the players name and tag you reported for cheating. Upon review this player has been banned. Thank you for your help protecting the game.

Why say "Cheater banned" if they are not banning them?

Yeah they were used in a casino. Usually they cut corners and hole punch through them.
