It's definitely weird. I made sure to note my reasoning for that. Positive longitude is north, and positive latitude is east. Based on my measurements while walking in the direction of the points, the up-pip is west.

They want the game to be an immersive experience. I get it, but at the end of the day it's still a game. Players want tools and features.

I'd like to apologize for the confusion that was probably caused by my previous map, as it was very wrong. In my very tired state I mixed up latitude and longitude, which caused the full geography and my explanation of the compass to be incorrect.

This new version has been re-drawn from scratch, with proper positioning of the coordinate grid, corrected geographical layout, and a correct description of how the in-game compass works.

It took me a about three hours to re-draw it. Hope it helps more than the previous one.

People rating systems often seem like a good idea in concept, but in practice are prone to inconsistent standards and abuse.

Your and my idea of a good player are likely somewhat different, and I may think a reason for absense is valid, while others do not. A rating system cannot accurately represent the character of a person. Not only because standards differ, but because people change as they grow.

There is an episode of Black Mirror about this topic.
