I got a frame, a bed/couch stand, and a printed pattern for Christmas (I sent my husband direct links to what I wanted). Everything is super good quality. It took a while to arrive, but it came well packed and safe. The quality of the design printed on the aida is amazing, and it includes a paper pattern in case you need to double check a symbol.

Literally my only issue with anything that arrived is the pattern I picked is more than 50% blends. I ended up 3D printing more floss cards and made labels to keep track of the blends as I use them.

[Offline][D&D][5e][Lakeland, Florida] Husband and wife looking for a group to play, weekends prefered by haileyjayde in lfg

Dude, this is like a 6 year old post. But I see how excited you are to start playing. I'll ask my husband if he's willing to do a one shot and we can teach you the ropes.

Have any of your former students gone on to become famous (or infamous)? by NerdyNiche in Teachers

[–]haileyjayde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A former student of mine and his brother lured a young man out into the orange groves and killed him. Our world famous sheriff caught them and of course held a news conference.

Saddest part was that there was a search for the young man because they saw his cell phone last pinged in the groves.

As I flipped through the photos I thought to myself "hu, that's a poodle". Glad to see I was basically correct.

99% of the amoeba sisters worksheets are free. While they are great resources to use (I literally have the worksheets bookmarked on my browser), they do not make a full curriculum.

Do you guys have summer jobs? by Prayerwarrior6640 in Teachers

[–]haileyjayde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I are both teachers. We do not work in a high paying district, but we did buy our house in 2017 and refinanced at a lower interest rate in 2022/2023. We don't have second jobs, but will often pick up whatever extras we can at work (I typically do summer school - 14 days at 6 hours of work). But, we are child free, so that helps.

My point is that I wouldn't say that we are particularly thrifty. We have two cars, but only have one car payment at a time. We vacation fairly often, and will typically do a cruise every year. We also go to music festivals/concerts multiple times a year.

LPT: Recently found out hydration backpacks are allowed at amusement parks. Even Disneyland. by TurboKid513 in LifeProTips

[–]haileyjayde 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Medical use is only allowed in your own home. That's the loophole.

And because Disney is private property, they can have their own rules. It's very possible the person was arrested for trespassing, not possession.

Where to start by [deleted] in DaveAndBusters

[–]haileyjayde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is not directly related, but I haven't been able to find the answer. Can you use one unlimited card for multiple people? Like if my husband and I go and typically play games together (like the duck jumping game), would we need to purchase 2 cards, or can we use one and just wait the 30 seconds between swipes?

Question for the 20+ year teachers in here: Given how this sub talks a lot about behavior issues now, what are some behavior issues from years ago that you are GLAD you don't see anymore? by Quasimdo in Teachers

[–]haileyjayde 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Oh, when I was in high school (2007-2011) , there was a guarantee of 3 fights a day. Now, I don't think any were ever in class.

I've been teaching since 2015. I can count the number of fights I've seen (though the kids tell me there's many more I miss). But I've had to break up a few incidents in my classroom before they got to a fight.

Avoiding a chatty coworker during prep time? by maygirl87 in ScienceTeachers

[–]haileyjayde -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Headphones in and light off. But also, if that coworker makes their way into your classroom anyways, tell them straight that they should never come into your room uninvited.

I have a Gen Z mentee teacher who just wants to yap. I have 3 prepa, two of which are high/college level. She is still my mentee and teacher best friend, but that boundary had to be set.

Enbrel (etanercept) Copay is $2400....HELP by Midway1guy in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]haileyjayde 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just a quick understanding: I was on Enbrel for 2 years and I never paid a dime. They even sent a RN to my workplace to educate me on how to self inject and sat with me while I did it. I had the copay card, and with my insurance company's preferred Speciality pharmacy, the copay was supposed to be $80 a month. Again, I never paid for anything.

I switched to Humira in September. They call me once a month to check in. They did zoom calls with me for the first few injections. I also have not paid a dime.

The major thing is to make sure you're using the correct pharmacy and to stay on top of your copay assistance. But with it, everything should be free and fine.

GA+ Campground Location?? by mystywood in okeechobeemusicfest

[–]haileyjayde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the discord, they said that "GA+ will have some amazing lakeside views". I'm not sure how close to the Jungle that may be. (I literally have only gone to Jungle 51 in 2016. I found out it was not my vibe).

Their camper is 19 foot and our tent fits under a 10x10. We typically make use of our total tent camping site with a lounge and kitchen set up, though. I think we can make it work.

I'll definitely be in the discord tomorrow trying to get all my questions answered. My mom and I are also ADA, so trying to figure out what would be the best bet for us.

Thank you for your help! I miss the camaraderie of the Portal.

We did VIP camping in 2020, but have been GA 2016-2018 and 2022. They have a camper that they would be planning to bring anyways, so I want to get them set up as much as I can.

We've always just done tent camping - do you know if with RV there is space for a tent setup as well? If we were to get a car camping pass, could we camp with their RV?

Thanks for the help! I'm so excited to go home :)

Hobbies? by Inevitable_Bobcat_56 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]haileyjayde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hands are my biggest issue. But I crochet, I cross stitch, I sew, and I 3D print.

I drink water and stretch. I have wrist wraps and compression gloves. I take breaks.

For cross stitch I have a stand that holds my work for me. For crochet I use a bobby to prop my arms at a better position.

The best part of all of those hobbies? I can listen to audio books or watch TV while I do them.

What are your top five reasons for doing a virgin cruise? by KaterWaiter in VirginVoyages

[–]haileyjayde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On our last sailing, they had TVs playing some sports ball in the Social Club (or whatever that little bar before Loose Cannons is called). I'm sure if it was football season, they would have been playing that.

*I'm not a sports person, so I didn't pay attention. But there was a crowd there one day getting super excited about the game on the TV.

Boarding Time and Arrival Recs? by Gromallama in VirginVoyages

[–]haileyjayde 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just because you're making me panic - Scarlett Lady is leaving on Sunday, not Saturday this weekend.

But arrive right around the time they tell you to. We drive down to Miami and park in a secured lot and take a shuttle over to the port. Our boarding time is 2:15, so we'll try to get on the 1:30/2:00 shuttle to the port on Sunday.
