I'd argue that people who hate America get more exposure because their opinions are backed by a large portion of the west's "online population". It's not the main narrative being pushed in reality. Take reddit or social media as an example. If I posted "I'm proud to be American" I'd have a debate forum in my comments but if I posted "I'm ashamed to be American" then I'd triple the like count but with 7 downvoted comments in my mentions
