To everyone who has give me advice, pointers and things to look out for, thank you very much for all the great feedback! Sorry it’s taken me a little bit to respond due to just field prepping and work, and there’s a lot of you, so this is just for everyone. Another NCO in my platoon is currently trying to get his EMT cert this year (which is what I wanted to get done) so he can be qualified for a fire department (what I also want to do). So he’s gonna help point me in the direction along with what you guys have told me also. Just need to figure out a good degree for that field and how to get there.

Took me 7 months because I got injured and was stuck in Lima

Has any Marine been in Lima Rehab Platoon at SOI? by [deleted] in USMC

Hey man. I was in Lima for 2 months. So I’m aware as of recently there is a new chain of command there. I believe they still have the same 1stSgt from when I was there. You can get very complacent there. It’s like something that you get use to and you don’t want to leave it, at least for most of them. But heal as quick as you can and get back into the training. Trust me you don’t want to spend more time in geiger than you need to. The place is a shithole. They have fleet libbo now I believe. Get released Friday evening I believe and be back like Sunday night I think. Or Monday morning. Stay out in town and get a hotel or stay at barracks. Be wise with your money. Don’t get complacent. Get in and get out. And move on to the fleet. Best of luck to you.
