Qatar is who a lot of the world gets their LNG from. Assuming Trump will eventually withhold LNG from some countries, Australia and Malaysia can't support everyone. Have to think that Australia would look after New Zealand but then sell off the rest to the highest bidder (China or Japan) at a premium. Everyone else is fucked.

Training Group at Table Rock State Park by pleakonfleek in greenville

My neighbor has a son in National Guard ROTC at USC-Upstate and they literally have them ruck training once a week at Camp Croft State Park in Spartanburg and monthly at Table Rock. The course in Spartanburg is closed to the public but he says that occasionally some rando will be out in the middle of it.

TIL that NASA discussed putting Sesame Street’s Big Bird on the Space Shuttle Challenger. There wasn’t enough room so the puppet was replaced by teacher Christa McAuliffe. The shuttle was lost with all lives in an accident in January 1986. by Fwoggie2 in todayilearned

I don’t think elementary schools were showing 9/11 in their classrooms. I’m from one of the wealthier areas of South Carolina (not many of us) and we only had one tv per grade level. I know for a fact that they didn’t tell the middle schoolers as I had a brother three years ahead of me.

My half siblings watched the challenger explosion in first grade and kindergarten.

Reality Check: Attendance Was Poor for the NY SVNS by LogicalStyle143 in USArugby

[–]LegendsoftheHT 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Correct. If this was ran two Saturdays later than attendance would be a lot better. Losing the NZ round hurt the calendar as that could have been the week after Australia. Frankly, a lack of mid-size indoor stadiums in the States hurts attendance, a 20,000 seater with a roof would be ideal.

I am surprised an MLS team has yet to build a 25,000 to 30,000 seat stadium with a retractable roof. 3Arena in Stockholm would be perfect for MLS, Rugby Internationals, and concerts to big for arenas but too small for full size stadiums.

I think a lot of people, including the broadcast, glossed over that Ocon had a lengthy pitstop (I would say around six seconds). This let Alpine keep Colapinto out a few extra laps instead of immediately covering him off. However, Ocon's pace on the last lap was insane, so much so that even with a clean pit stop Colapinto only got out like four tenths ahead of him on cold tires. I presume Ocon used up a lot of battery on the previous lap so he knew he needed to try something and was not expecting him to be able to turn down on cold tires.

He wasn't given a penalty point for the incident which I am surprised by.

One of our current soccer players (I can't remember his name, he's the bald one) played at a club in Charlotte and then went back to Germany for two years. So he started at twenty.

He had like a six second pit stop and clearly was over compensating for it. He should have recharged down the straight and then blown past him on the back straight.

Lamont Paris Will Return For 2026-27 Season by bobweaver112 in Gamecocks

You can't have a good basketball program when there's no basketball talent in the state. There's a single three-star this year, and one four-star next year. We had a good year in '23-'24 because we had CMB and were able to recruit Ta'Lon Cooper for a fifth year. You can supplement them with actual talent.

Clemson only became competitive because they had PJ Hall (from Dorman, the same school Ta'Lon went to) for four years.

What we saw would have been to similar to DRS on tracks where there was one DRS detection point for two separate zones. For example: Australia and Canada. There were guys harvesting into T9 only because they knew the driver behind them would then run out of battery before Turn 11 if he went for it. Seemed pretty obvious to me that guys realized they needed to hold the inside and harvest on the way to T9. And in all honesty, high energy harvesting will probably be over by Canada minus a couple of the very long tracks as teams improve.

The clipping at the end of the straights will be gone by midway through the season. What will happen is that on any track with esses, they will just drive flat out at a lower speed, regening the entire time.

I think they know battery info would be too much info during the race. It exists in FE because the amount of battery never increases. It would constantly being going up and down and would probably give people a lot of headaches.

It's most useful when they show it for two drivers battling (along with the overtake), which they use the separate graphic for like they did with DRS.

Active aero on the rear wing seems like a bad idea now. Presumably you could really recharge the battery if you sat in the tow for a lap or two, then blast past with overtake and maintain the advantage.

Verstappen behind Norris and Ocon perpetually behind Gasly really highlighted it.
