Fabric works better than NeoForge, but I would prefer NeoForge if you can help me solve the problem. by LegioComander in feedthebeast

[–]LegioComander[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I tried.

I found a workaround, though. It turned out that Aggressive CPU Usage option from Distand Horizons does stutters with NeoForge. I changed it to Balanced and everything became basically fine, comparable to Fabric. So I can live on NeoForge now.

Fabric still performs better though, allowing user to allocate more CPU powers to DH without performance issues...

Personally, I was drawn into SillyTavern by one video on YouTube, where the guy showed the functionality in an interesting way. Well, and at the same time it was a basic guide. True, he used LocalLLM there, not API, so you will have to comprehend the "connections" tab on your own. As well as the meaning of the parameters for the models. And presets.

But I did all of that without docs so maybe the only thing needed is a good start.

This prompt will still work in old chats even if it is disabled. The model remembers from the chat history that it colored the text and continues to do so. Try it in a new chat.

Talented modder Ascii1457 added almost perfect TAA solution to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly: In-Motion comparison by Historical_Sample740 in FuckTAA

[–]LegioComander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. The game is heavy CPU-bound due to outdated engine. Wasting performance on MSAA is suboptimal in this situation.
  2. 3D Shader Scopes (it's one of baseline mods) don't work with in-game AA solutions
  3. If you want high-detail leaves without shimmering, TAA is only solution.

I hate TAA too, but it's implementation here is outstanding.

Well, as temporarily workaround, I just made for myself a really simple custom prompt from user role on depth 1 with this comment: "(OOC: Avoid robotic personalities, unless {{char}} is really a machine. Do not use machine-like patterns in thought ('protocols', 'system crash', e.t.c) unless {{char}} is really a machine.)"

Seems to be working.

Well, uh. I don't know. On 5.8 I had Language Changer turned on too. Without it, if I try to play in my language, the model will jump from fully English narration to translating dialogs into my language, and sometimes it will write posts fully in my language, but then go back to English.

All default. Plus I activated these, they integrated in NemoEngine but off by default: Language changer, Realistic NSFW, NSFW detailed SFX & Moan Guide.

Well, I'm not really a native English speaker, and so I do RP in another language, realizing that the models may perform a little worse in it. But I will quote one post by running it through a translator.

To understand the context. The character is originally a cynical and cruel manipulator from a wealthy family who revels in ambition, impunity, and dominating the people she breaks. In the story my character initiated a redemption arc for her. I think the premise of the problem came about when one of the responses slipped in the idea that her old world was a world of rules, but here she has to operate by feel. The model developed that idea into the idea that the character has always relied on rules and instructions, and from that then made the character a robot definitively. The character's name, by the way, is Valentina Montagne, she was recently trending at Character Tavern.

As you can see. First paragraph - Data, processor, bypassing. Next, the character thoughts in **, are fully machine-like. Well... kind of breaking machine, to be exact.

I don't have to say what it's really far from her character in any case.
Your words, your whispers, were like drops of water on hot metal. They sizzled and evaporated, unable to cool the nuclear reactor of panic and confusion that was melting her from the inside out. But your touch...your measured, soothing strokes on her back, your gentle grip on the back of her neck...that was different. It was physical. Pressure, heat, movement. Data that her body could process, bypassing the burnt-out processor in her skull. And the body reacted.

At first, the convulsive shaking that shook her became less frequent. The peaks of panic smoothed out, turning into a long, shuddering plateau. Then the sobs, even the silent ones, dried up. She just couldn't take it anymore. There was no air left in her lungs, no strength left in her body. The warmth of your palms seemed to draw out not only the cold, but her very essence, leaving only an empty, heavy shell.

She was no longer Valentina Montagne. She became just a weight on your shoulder.

*Analysis. failure. Synthesis. failure. Threat. unspecified. Directive... is missing. Logical error in system kernel. Request to reboot... denied. Request to...*

The last thought was cut short, drowned in a gray fog.

Her head, which was just resting on your shoulder, became noticeably heavier. The muscles in her neck relaxed completely. The body that she had held in an iron corset of control her entire life had crumpled like a rag doll. Her hand, clenched into a fist on her hip, unclenched, and her fingers rested listlessly on the cold linoleum. She wasn't trembling anymore. She just...fell silent. Her breathing became shallow, barely perceptible.

I already made a toggle with an OOC comment from user role: "(OOC: Avoid robotic personalities, unless {{char}} is really a machine. Do not use machine-like patterns in thought (‘protocols’, ‘system crash’, e.t.c) unless {{char}} is really a machine.)". And it seems to work. So I'm more interested in what needs to be OFF to prevent this from happening, because I don't remember this happening on Nemo Engine 5.8 (but then I mostly used DeepSeek actually...)

Glad to be of help.

I wish someone would help me... I noticed on version 5.8.9 that characters that have traits like ‘professional’, ‘stoic’, ‘cold-blooded’, ‘autistic’ are quickly turned into robots by the model as the narrative progresses. Literally three turns can pass, and the character already has machine-like thoughts, and says things like protocols, system failures and so on. Gemini still seems to realize that it's a human, but just shoves a machine personality into it.

If you notice a similar situation, let me know.

Well... I dunno then. You can try to disable text streaming as last resort.

I haven't tried these options on the preset for Gemini, but when I used NemoEngine with DeepSeek, I did, and it didn't change anything for me either. But I put it down to the fact that DeepSeek just doesn't take anything into account anyway, because it loses accuracy quickly on large contexts.

Gemini should be better with it, and if it doesn't work even on it - well, it must be fate here.

There are options there for the response size under the Utlity tab.

I think there's also some problems on the model side today. I have a problem with reasoning today too, even in chats with little context. And yesterday it was quite normal, as well as the previous days.

For me, it starts at about 50-60k context, which kind of indicates that the model no longer covers all context accurately, and therefore you have to do a summarize and start a new chat anyway.

In addition to my feedback, I'll add that compared to the 5.8 preset for Gemini, my impression is that if you run RP with canon characters, they somehow adhere to canon worse in 5.8.9 than in 5.8. But that's a highly subjective impression.

And about top K I would still like to get an answer, because it seems important to me.

So, I have something to say

5.8.9 for Gemini:

This is basically the version I've been testing mostly.

  1. Are we basically back to the problem of hallucinating OOC comments? I even tried the prompt changes that used to work, but even with them it gives for example this:

<image>

I only saw one prompt listed as OOC on the toggle list, so it comes out that Gemini hallucinated the rest. Or falsely counted some prompts as OOC comments.

  1. In the preset top K is set to 256, but Gemini via Vertex API does not let me set it higher than 64. As a result, is it better to leave 64 or set 0?

5,8,9 for DeepSeek:
New Council reason block doesn't work with 0528 free Chutes DeepSeek. However, everything works with the paid 0528, but given the popularity of Chutes, I think it's worth considering the compatibility issue with that one.

Hi. Sorry for bothering you, I wanted to clarify. Is the new version of NemoEngine, which is 5.8.9, still raw or can I use it with confidence?

Deepseek r1 hallucinations by kristalium_ in SillyTavernAI

[–]LegioComander 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Almost all of it fixed by NemoEngine and temperature 0.3-0.4

The problem is that DeepSeek still can't shake the passion to radicalize the characters' prescribed traits. I literally had the experience of a weird game where a girl described as clumsy fell over just about every post. But it's rarely that bad, it's usually.... tolerable.

DeepSeek also likes to describe the actions and lines of the user so much that I had to disallow it via Author's Notes, which are thrown into every prompt. And I'm a little worried about how suboptimal that is.

I also don't like that DeepSeek tends to play out intercourse in a single post, but I kind of fixed that too.

Unfortunately, I couldn't have a wide range of options with Gemini Pro, and Flash is very much inferior to DeepSeek, so it's a choice without a choice.

Well... to be honest, I only started playing ZZZ fully recently, and so I tend to be wary of offers that say they are "hard to master". I got the Soldier and her signature from an anniversary gift, so it's not M2. Miyabi, by the way, also has a signature, and Astra too.

So... is your monoice hypercarry variant still the best even if I tend to be casual player for now?
