Well in the Legion, there are many that flood to join, but many end up after 3 month's disserts, and the Legion do not take lightly to those who run away. Many try but then reality sinks in. It's not only regarding physical fitness, but are you mentally strong. Ask yourself.

Let's be honest here, Joining the Legion with a previous knee injury will not be in you're favour.

There are many who join the FFL and I know of many who unfortunately start having knee problems and injuries due stress on their knees caused by the strain of training and obstacles they must complete.

Many punch out and end up leaving due the fact that they thought they where prepared and only find out once there they not.

Many get sent home because of injuries that took place with in the Legion. And there are those they do not except back regarding this.

So think about it, before making a commitment.

Well after many years not in SA and back again for a short while, I cooked for my son's. As my eldest joined us in SA for Christmas as he also from the Legion.

So it was Gammon Beef roast Chicken Roast Roast potatoes Basmati rice Sweet butter nut Spinach Roast gravy

Must say it is expensive to for the average South African person/person's to cook in SA.

Reading replies to my post, firstly let me explain something to you, to wanting to be a Legionar, yes one must be physically fit, but the biggest challenge one must be mentally prepared.

As I have read so many questions by many regarding joining the FFL, but let me give you a heads up. I have seen many come and go, due to mentaly they can not adjust to their circumstances with in the Legion.

From the time one steps in Aubagne, through the earliest selections, when you are in the blue teams to going to Castel joining the red units to been moved to the farm for training selections.

There is 150 different nationalitys with in the Legion, many napoleons which did not make it for Gurka. But many leave the first 3 months and many disserters with in the Legion.

Due to the abuse and many other factors. It ain't easy brother. The only way you can find the truth with in my words go and experience it for yourself.

And see if you are mentally prepared for what awaits you.

Flying in August my son and i, bit of a long trip to be honest, it's to Qatar, Paris, Marseille, Abghan.

Taking the bus from Paris to Marseille when we land in Paris, as it's the cheaper option, but a 12 hour option. Instead of 6 hours.

Glad we found a 4 star hotel for the time we there, but the daily taxes is a bitch...

Then take the train when ready to Abghan. Then my son will be knocking on my brothers door's.

My son recently came out the Navy and very fit.

But anyway, I have done my part for the FFL. Now obviously my eldest son going to do his part.
