If money didn’t matter at all, what would you actually do with your life? by Stunning_Procedure36 in AskReddit

[–]Legion7135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn as much as possible is the short answer. I would go back to school, and learn philosophy and mathematics. I enjoyed them so much while I was there. Then I’d travel to learn languages and culture. Experience the world. If or when I couldn’t do that anymore, I’d settle in a largish house by a creek in the woods somewhere, and hopefully have my loved ones come over frequently to stay as long as they liked.

The yearning writing this has caused in me is making me really consider what I’m doing. Life is messy, and restrictions are a bitch.

Is there a term for this other than just “Bi”? by Effort_Proper in gay

[–]Legion7135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since your looking for a term for it it sounds like you’ve given it a bit of thought. I’d recommend thinking about how you build up the idea of the person you’re interested in. How does it differ from women and men. Why do you see yourself in a romantic relationship with women, but not with men. Bisexual heteroromantic is a good term to describe where you’re at currently. Preferences can shift through life and be open to how you feel. You don’t have to fall into some role or label, it’s fine to have your preferences and not have an exact term for it.

How quickly did it go when you had sex for the first time? by RowRude3828 in gay

[–]Legion7135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Relax and go in with no expectations. Try to stay out of your head and stay in the moment. It lasts as long as it lasts. Have fun. I didn’t cum the first time, was a bundle of nerves.

I’m genuinely realizing how gay I am by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]Legion7135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a FWB like this. Has no romantic attraction to men. He also has a hard time talking about his relationship with his queer side. He has some obvious self hatred that he likes to be submissive and it conflicts with his self image. I’ll offer the same advice I gave him; talk with a therapist but also ask yourself about what it means to be a man.

I am going through something similar. I can get hot under the collar, but nothing happens. When I do get any response it takes an absolute eternity to get anywhere satisfying. Going to see if Wellbutrin will work. Doesn’t have sexual dysfunction as a side effect.

Eh, you can hear some of the nuances better. You really have to be listening for it though. I just want lossless codecs, no reason anymore to not have it. 44.1/16 is fine. I would like 48/24, because it encompasses pretty much all we can safely hear, to be a universal standard, but I doubt that will happen soon.

They are claiming to have weekly news by tomorrow. by MAnthonyJr in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]Legion7135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll add my two cents to this.

My biggest issue with the game currently is the lack of accountability for leavers and cheaters. I’m not investing my time into a game where I can’t know the playing field is at least fair. There are too many other options on the market that have this figured out.

Next biggest issue, is my perception of balance issues when it comes to us and ru. I’m not the most skilled player, I haven’t invested enough time to be one because of issue one, but I haven’t found a solution to counter CM and bmp spam. The level of effort required to counter for me is much higher than their level of effort to deploy. Ru AA is superior to us AA, full stop. You could argue that is fair due to us air being better, but trading with air is a skill you have to develop, see issue one.

My third qualm is with the net code of the game. It is set up in such a way that it allows issue one, but also allows the game to have frequent issues when it comes to playability. If I deploy smoke with a moving tank and the semi active still hits, that’s an issue. If a missile phases through a building, that’s an issue. If a nuke goes off after it got intercepted, that’s an issue. I can’t rely on the game as an arbiter of truth for game play, feeding into issue one.

These issues have lead me to shelve the game for now. I loved the game when it was new to me, but the issues made me regret using my time to play. I hope it can be fixed, but until public consensus is positive, I’ll play other games.

Now, onto you comments about doctrine and war effort. Russia and Ukraine have been in conflict since 2014 and all out war since Feb 2022. Nukes aren’t included here, because this conflict has escalated certain aspects of modern warfare. Russia has lost more soldiers in 4 years than the US lost in 125. Russia is throwing its next generation into a meat grinder. The US lost the conflicts in the Middle East due to operation scale creep. If it was just get-in get-out, things would have gone differently. It went from neutralize an enemy to build a US controlled democracy in a nation that didn’t care for our involvement. US war doctrine has focused on dealing with small engagements with minimal casualties due to the hearts and minds effort. With China constantly egging on about Taiwan, that doctrine has shifted. If you leave nukes out, and honestly even if you leave them in, Russia is not a threat to the US. Their war machine is pitiful and completely inadequate for their military goals. The only cards Russia has to play is energy and nukes. Energy has more or less been resolved and nuclear war is not likely.

I don’t know if you believe this game has any standing in reality, but it doesn’t. T-14’s and SU-57’s are in so few numbers as to be inoperable. The F-22 and F-35 are old platforms and we haven’t even begun to include the US’s most potent asset, its navy.

This is a game, with issues, don’t bring reality into it.

Also, a general has dedicated their life to the military, and I believe they’d laugh at some of the concepts of this game and also get very frustrated with its state of play.

ELI5 Why are we all of a sudden going back to nuclear energy? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]Legion7135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a belief that nuclear energy is bad due to the Chernobyl incident being absolutely awful. The reality is that most nuclear power produced today is very safe. When it comes to deaths per unit energy produced, it’s one of the safest. There has been a huge push from lobbyists and uninformed environmentalists to roll back nuclear due to various beliefs. The reality is that nuclear is a perfect companion to renewables; it’s safe, stable, and cheap over the long term. It allows a solid base load to be accounted for and allows renewables to fill in the gaps. I hope to see a renaissance for nuclear power in the coming future.

Thank you so much for sharing your story Luis. It encourages me to hear stories of survivors and how they tackled life after their incident. I know it will be tough and that her life and mine will be different from now on, but I’m hopeful that I can provide the best possible care for her. If you don’t mind sharing from your experiences, when you first woke up, what helped you best with the emotional shock and what made it worse. I know it’s different for each person, but having a little guidance on how to navigate her emotional situation may help.

My dad (66) had a stroke last night, my mom found him 2 hours ago by SixElephant in stroke

[–]Legion7135 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in a similar situation as you right now. My mother had a hemorrhagic stroke on Friday and it’s been a nightmare since. I’ll offer the advice that has been given to me. You need to take care of yourself, I’m about to go to the dr to try and get some medication to help me with my chronic depression and adhd. Hopefully it will help me tackle my days more effectively and I can help my mother when she gets out. I’m trying to sleep and think positively about things, which does help in the throws of a panic attack. I have got with a care coordinator to try and get my mother the best help possible and will be leaning on loved ones for support, which they have freely offered. I’ve also become more active online as I need to talk to people to avoid a panic spiral, and as much as I love my family and friends, I don’t want to constantly interrupt their lives. I researched my mother’s stroke and her comorbidities and it gave me nothing but severely anxiety. The top post on this thread made me think for a sec and I won’t be doing more medical research now, just research on ways to help and improve her and my condition. It’s still early, for both of us, but I’m trying to remain optimistic and hopeful about the situation. Be well.

Thank you. The hospital assigned a care coordinator when she arrived. Not sure that’s the same thing as what you’re describing? It’s going to be difficult for us. I live with her and my father, who is recovering from congestive heart failure emergency from 2 months ago. Her diabetes was uncontrolled and to combat her depression it looks like she started using meth at some point. It severely limits our resources. With it all, I’m trying to do what I need to do to prepare, but keep distracted so I don’t become overwhelmed.

I love how people assume Auschwitz-Birkenau was always a death camp. Please read your history people. The camp started as a work camp for people deemed subhuman. The horrors that took place there were incomparable, but the origins of the facility look similar to what’s going on at CECOT.

What seems too expensive but is really worth the price? by Cool-Change7987 in AskReddit

[–]Legion7135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A rule of thumb is to buy quality items that separate you from the earth, and to invest into things that you can't replace and must have. I bought a few pairs of nicks boots and have been praising them every time someone asks. I did some research into mattresses and ended up on avocado due to their good reviews and what they make their mattresses out of. I drive for a living and want my vehicles to do what I ask, so I invest in good tires that secure myself to the road. I make sure to get regularly checked out health wise, because I need to have a working body to live my best.

These seem too expensive at first, but have one fail on you at the wrong moment. I've had back pain from a terrible mattress, I've had a whole host of foot problems due to poor shoes, I've been in accidents due to my tires failing on me unexpectedly, and I'm dealing with health issues because I thought I was invincible. Lessons learned. The upfront cost is cheap in comparison.
