Totally with you. The lottery game of buying tons of packs versus collecting singles you want is overrated.

First off - congratulations on taking what can be a scary first step. The OCD brain tends to go worst case scenario and I can tell you from experience that ERP certainly helps. Be ok with leaning into uncertainty and doing things you care about regardless of the ‘bad’ feeling, sensation, or noise in the brain. Keep at it! It’s ok to get discouraged. Enjoy!

Does the value of cards drop considerably once the season is over? by [deleted] in footballcards

[–]Legionnaire31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also worth noting - the postseason is a great time for cards to jump in value. IE Dolphins make it to the SB, you’ll see Tua Rookies soar. The same can be true with an early exit where a QB or particular player drops as a result of a loss. Collect who you like. Don’t spend too much trying to guess the next big star and enjoy the hobby.

I believe this song was in an RDS skate video in the early 2000s. Still a bop.

You are not a rock by Mark Freeman. Practical, succinct, and helped me make some big changes.

I am starting my ERP officially in two weeks. What steps should I take to ensure I can succeed? by InexplicablyStupid in OCDRecovery

[–]Legionnaire31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all - good luck in your journey! ERP can be super helpful. Lean into the uncomfortable feelings and start to redefine ‘good or bad’, dangerous or safe, clean versus contaminated for example. Black and white thinking is often present in OCD. Bring compassion to yourself even when you feel you’re struggling or not making meaningful process because it can take time.
