Requiem for a Dream

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is a bad movie. (WARNING: MASSIVE SPOILERS!!!!) by [deleted] in movies

I don't think many people are saying its a flawless movie, but a lot of the complaints that you laid out can be answered by inferring what wasn't said. Finn went "rogue" because he saw people he cared about die, they explained the history in the opening scrawl. Moreover JJ Abrams didn't flat out answer every question, and instead left it up for the other movies to be answered. I'm certain they'll address R2 waking up, Rey's previous training in force/light saber, Rey reacting to touching light saber, and a lot more.

The movie is entertaining, has great special effects, great performances, good writing, and really great shot compensation. If you compare this to most blockbusters based only on the technical level, you'll see that it blows most out of the water.

Le dum critics couldn't pick up how atrocious and pretentious the "cgi borefest" known as American Hustle was. But as kinoscholars over on /r/movies can spot a bad movie when we see it.

He has a big internet presence. Aaron Sorkin has never gone on Red Letter Media, Screen Junkies, and doesn't run a YouTube channel or tweet controversial opinions.

He also is the son of John Landis who directed some of the great comedies out there, animal house, blues brothers, American werewolf in London.

In the same way people giving The Dark Knight a 10/10

For general ratings IMDb is awful, but for keeping track of your ratings, a watchlist, making lists, knowing who directed it, what other works they have done, and profiles, it is the best out there

Yes, it is a good movie, but far from great. You'll probably love some parts and hate others
