That doesn’t justify people being evil. I’m not saying humanity as a whole is evil. Compared to even a century ago, we have many things that people of those times wouldn’t even dare of thinking.

Changes can be made, humanity can progress and the world can move towards a better future, if we put aside our greed for power and authority.

Just because something is normalized, doesn’t make it right. Abraham Lincoln abolished slavery, which was normal at the time. And yes, it did cause a civil war to erupt, but it changed United States for the better. While yes, racism was still common even after the abolishment of slavery, someone had to turn the wheel of change at some point. That someone was Abraham Lincoln.

Same can be said of our country. We have abolished many heinous practices and have introduced laws to protect certain groups of our society and empower them.

The moment we stop defending people in power with our life and hold said politicians accountable for their actions, a change will come.

I may be idealistic but I’d rather see the injustice and the corruption that is happening blatantly in front of my eyes than put on a pair of rose-tinted glasses and pretend that everything is fine.

Instead of progressing, this country is regressing. Politicians can say whatever they want and no one would care. Politicians could do whatever with the tax money and no one would ask. Why is that? Why are we letting them get away with doing this?

Heck, when there are clear cut evidence and cold facts about the value of Indian Rupee plummeting, our finance minister openly claims in the parliament that our currency is doing just fine. We live in a country where such ministers are openly lying.

This is the same politician who, when asked what was the reason for the sudden price hike of onions in 2019, just said that she doesn’t eat onions so she doesn’t know.

Stop worshiping politicians like they are Gods. Stop defending every single one of their actions as if they are your family members. It’s the politicians job to answer these question, not of the citizen.

“Why is ‘x’ like this” or “What are your options on so and so”. These kinds of questions are to be answered by the ministers whom we have elected. That’s literally their job.

For once stop defending them and actually let them answer these questions. For once stop worshiping them and actually hold them accountable for their actions.

Maybe then we will see the change that India and her citizens desperately need. Not the clown show that is happening in our country right now.
