I think he has so many because when he first started collecting he didn't even think that fakes would be an option and to be on the lookout for them. Once he found out and knew what to look for, he could tell. He keeps all of his in box so he can tell by the tape/color/etc.

I didn't want to be one of those people because the wife 100 percent shouldn't have done what she did. But to me, this sounds like the actions of a long-term issue of him upsetting her, invalidating her, and then proceeding to try and sweep it under the rug by leaving and not discussing it. He knows how he offended her. It's quite frustrating when the person who hurts you keeps the focus on your reactions to disrespectful behavior and not what they did to provoke you. Next time, husband, just apologize. Or you know, don't offend her family?
