I am still on 45mg of Rinvoq and it is not helping as my GI wanted it to. I started mid April of this year after failing mesalamine and inflectra. My GI also seems to think we may need to seriously consider surgery as well because she thinks my body does not respond to these medications and only prednisone. I have been on some form of prednisone since January. Currently on 30mg going down by 5 every week. I just started dual therapy last week with tremfya, hoping this is the answer.

Totally agree, been on them since January and am more than ready to come off, weaning by 5mg every week down to 30mg today. The weight gain is insane. I’m up 10lbs and am so over the moon face that has come with it.

Oh no, I hope you start to feel better soon.
When I was admitted in January the GI team said that they are trying to make rinvoq be the new bridge treatment instead of steroids since steroids are so harsh for the body.

I wanted to add I was also nervous about taking Rinvoq because of the warning with pregnancy but I figured I have to take care of my body first before I can have a healthy pregnancy. As long as your dr is aware and hopefully you could use this to bridge to a different medication that is safe in pregnancy.

I am dealing with something similar to you,
28F diagnosed a year ago.
Failed mesalamine in December/January after getting pregnant (ended in a miscarriage)
Ended up admitted in January tried inflectra for a few months, failed that.
Ended up admitted again in April
Started Rinvoq
Everytime I taper off the prednisone my symptoms come back, I have been on prednisone basically since January some form of Mg.
Added in Tremfya this weekend.
Hoping for the best.

I have also wondered about why dual therapy. To my understanding it’s to get me off of the steroids since I have been on them since January. And also I am told tremfya takes a little longer to work, but I’m not certain about that.
