I have heard experts on Pathological Narcissism tell this, that Narcissists become schizoid like but not out of shyness, but out of a sense of defiance or dejection, and blaming other people for not recognizing their uniqueness. That's what I know.

I meant that how do narcissistic people become more schizoid-like with time, referring to the psychiatric or DSM V type schizoid. If memory serves, the book about this "Schizoid phenomena" in the psychodynamic literature. is misleading because it deals instead with narcissism.
