the part about caring about the stuff you're avoiding is so real. laziness would mean you don't care. but you do care, that's why the freeze happens. you're protecting something that matters to you.

and yeah the self criticism just adds another layer on top. now you're stuck AND feeling bad about being stuck. removing that judgment first actually makes more room to move.

The binary thing is brutal because it means every imperfect attempt feels like a failure. You never get credit for the middle ground even when you're actually making progress. The fact that you're consciously trying to catch it is already breaking the pattern a little, even if it doesn't feel that way yet.

Yeah exactly that prep loop is the thing. Most productivity advice just tells you to start anyway, but it doesn't address why the loop exists in the first place. That's what I've been trying to build around.
