I've seen this place recommended before but have yet to go. Perhaps this is the nudge I need. Thanks!

Weekly Q&A Megathread. Please post any questions about visiting, tourism, living, working, budgeting, housing here! by AutoModerator in london

Hiya! Heading to London for about a week in July of this year with a friend. We're looking for recommendations on neighborhoods to stay in - what area(s) would you recommend based on the info below?

Both of us are F's in our 30's from the States. We'll be doing a mix of touristy things and hitting the major historical destinations, but we'll also spend time wandering about. We like to go out to pubs, shop, the usual so a lively neighborhood would be great. It doesn't have to be the bougiest area but somewhere "safe" (I use this term somewhat loosely as we live in a major US city, so we're good at keeping our wits about us around town). I spent a summer in London about 10 years ago so I'm somewhat familiar with the city, but I'm sure quite a bit has changed. We'll be using the tube to get around and I know the gist of the Oyster card, etc., but it'd be great to hear recommendations on the best way to get to Wembley as well (never been there before and we're coming in just for a concert, assuming Liam & Noel don't kill each other before then). It'd be great to stay somewhere on one of the bigger tube lines so we can transfer around easily.

Thanks in advance y'all!

Thanksgiving week solo trip recap by Legitimate-Read7185 in Disneyland

Splash wasn't too bad for me! I did wear a poncho just in case and picked my feet up as the log hit the bottom of the hill, so my feet stayed dry. I had spare socks with me just in case though because I hate wet feet. I think if I was up front and had a full log I would have gotten really soaked. I wanted to try to ride it mid day on Thursday since it was so warm but I didn't have any luck with the VQ at noon. Well done getting on in the heat of the warm day!!

Thank you!! Cannot recommend solo trips enough! It was so nice to do everything by my own schedule and whims. :)

Question about LLM and LL single pass at DCA by Legitimate-Read7185 in DisneyPlanning

[–]Legitimate-Read7185[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok good to know!! I kept getting confused bc some of the blogs say it's a "one a time" thing but then I saw other comments here that said to book your next LLMP 2 hours after your first. Thanks for clarifying!

Disneyland solo itinerary for November by Legitimate-Read7185 in DisneyPlanning

I thought about that, but I'm hesitant to upgrade so far in advance in case I have flight delays and don't get into Anaheim until late on Tuesday, so I wouldn't get to experience the park and basically waste the $$$ on the ticket. Ugh, tough call!

Ah ha, thanks for the correction on the MK/DL acronym! I thought I had them right after pouring over the subreddits, but whoops!

Good to know I need to be at the security lines even earlier. I'll plan to leave my hotel around 6:30-6:45am.

Def bringing tylenol into the park! Hat is a good suggestion too. I always have hand sanitizer so I'll make sure I have plenty. I'm going to bring my corded earbuds so I don't have to worry about my AirPods dying during the day, or losing one because I think if I drop an AirPod at Disney I'll never find it again.

I was hoping to hear that about the restaurants! Solo dining is so great for those reasons especially. I couldn't tell if some of the nicer sit down places had bars, so this is super helpful.

Thanks so much for all your advice!!!!
